I had emergency scheduled surgery on 7/18/18. My doctor Jocelyn Slaughter (also the one performing this surgery) arranged this appointment following a routine visit at her office. The doctors, nurses, & staff were beyond amazing. Everyone went above and beyond. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone & I can’t wait to deliver our first born here when that time comes.

I had to go there and receive bad news. There was no wait time (around 1pm) they got me right back started treating me. They were kind and you could tell they loved what they did STILL which is rare these days. I didn't feel like a number like other area hospitals
I felt like I was in good hands and they cared. Had surgery and everything taken care of sane day barely any waiting, it was great experience considering the circumstances. I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else receiving that kind of news.

True blessing. Thank you For bless

This has been the most horrible experience in my life. I have been in this hospital since July 29 (today is Aug 3), and have been given 4 different diagnoses. The doctors are incompetent as well as the nurses. I have different Dr's giving me different results before discussing amongst each other. The nurses on my floor (observation) do NOT know how to insert an IV and I had to subsequently get one inserted by the lab. Additionally there are no doctors that respond right away when you need someone other than a nurse to assist you. I have waited 2 hours just for Tylenol! I feel like the longer I stay, I will die because of misdiagnosis and this hospital would have a wrongful death lawsuit on their hands. They don't listen to your concerns, nor do they seem to care. My own nurse told me that she wouldn't even get care at this hospital and she works here! I am discharging immediately to go to another hospital and plan to report this hospital as the level of care is horrendous. I will NEVER come back even on my death bed.

Update: I was willing to drive 30 min to Northside Hospital and the service is night and day from each other. I have gotten the BEST service from the nurses and doctors. They actually care about their patients. Again, I will reiterate, I will NEVER return to Eastside. I will pursue a complaint ASAP.

I normally don't leave reviews but my experience at this hospital was not great when I delivered my baby.

Staff: Most of the nurses were wonderful (Tatyanna, Cheryl, and many more) however there was one nurse (Tammy) that didn't show the compassion and understanding of the pain and discomfort I experienced while in labor. Also, unnecessary comments made by the same nurse and the gentlemen who preformed my epidural.

Follow Through: There are a lot of issues with follow through. I had to follow up several times to find out where my baby was after giving birth. When someone said they would let me in a few hours, I heard nothing. Also, when I expressed my concerns to the manager of labor and delivery (Melanie) she seemed compassionate and concerned of my experience, but she said she would do something for us (nothing big but something) heard nothing from her when we left. Don't tell someone you are going to do something and not follow through. I just didn't seem like no one cared.

Discharge: It took almost 3 hours just to get discharged from the hospital. There has to be a better way to streamline this process and better communication on the steps to get discharge from the hospital. It just seems like no one cared or had the sense of urgency to provide us information on what we needed to leave.

If it wasn't for the wonderful nurse I encountered. I would have gave my experience a zero.

This one star is generous. My mother came in on a ambulance screaming and crying. She waited 30 minutes before a nurse even came and the only reason she came in was because me and my father asked about 10 times. After she was given her medicine she told me she felt worse. When I told the nurses they didn’t even pay any attention. Finally I call our lawyer and when the nurses heard me on the phone they sent in two nurses that just told her what medicine she was given and that they can’t do anything for her. Then proceeded to try and argue with her while she’s crying in pain. When our lawyer called the hospital trying to figure out what was going on, she asked the nurse who was the doctor there and was told she couldn’t give out the name. Obviously our lawyer knows the law better than anyone so she knew the nurse was lying. Then when our lawyer told her she was lying she hung up the phone, the nurse name is Caitlian. Also they refused to give us Caitlians last name and told me they couldn’t, which is also a lie. After a hour and 30 minutes I asked when the doctor would see her because the the doctor told me it would only be 45 minutes. Also I was watching them the entire time and noticed the doctor didn’t get up one time in that hour and the nurses were all just talking about personal stuff, no work was being done. After about a hour and 45 minutes I asked for the doctor. Then a nurse catches an attitude. I told them they don’t have to get an attitude, I just want to know when the doctor will come. Another nurse rudely jumps in and tells me I can go just for asking for the doctor so many times. My sister got to stay in. So after I leave a nurse comes in and started yelling at my mom while my sister was asking the nurses what time did my mother come in, which they wouldn’t tell her. She had to ask for 10 minutes just trying to figure out when she came in. Finally after two hours of screaming, crying and is asking when will someone come in they take her for a scan and tell my sister she can’t come with her. She still came and stood outside the door. They didn’t bring results for over an hour. Very unprofessional. This was a nightmare dealing with the horrible nurses to the lazy doctor. I hope something changes because it is ridiculous that so many people have to go through this
