Ugh...this place. Went in because I suspected an upper respiratory infection. I could hear the doctor (and nurses) mocking not only me, but other patients who were in there as well. Hey guess what? Sound travels down a hallway. Doctor was, unsuccessfully, trying to suppress a laugh, while handing me an antibiotic. Annoying, unprofessional, and ignorant. I would not recommend the place at all...you're better off going to Tyler or Longview.
I was admitted from the er to stay for 24 hr observation. The er staff were helpful but the night shift needs work. After moving to my room I asked for water several times. Wasn't until the day shift came in that I actually got it. 7 hours later. My pillow had stains on it so I changed the pillow case. The day shift was nice and helpful but I think I could've died on night shift and no one would've noticed.
My boyfriend had severe food poisoning. At first I didn't want to go to ETMC because I've heard a lot of bad stuff. But I'm very glad we did. The nurse staff, kitchen staff, everybody helped us out. They were super friendly and did a wonderful job. My boyfriend and I are very happy how we were treated. Thank you ETMC for saving his life!!
I came in for a blood transfusion and surgery. Everyone from admission to nursing, housekeeping and dietary has been super nice. They have made this hard situation much better. I would like to thank everyone.
I hope and pray I NEVER have to go to this hospital EVER again. Total incompetence and unprofessional. This place is exactly what's wrong with healthcare in this country.
I spent 6 hours there for a chemical stress test. They made several attempts to force me into doing a treadmill stress test after I had already told them I had a spinal cord injury.
I went back for my follow-up to see results and discuss prognosis and he put me on a new prescription to control blood pressure. Day 2 and no prescription to my pharmacy. I could go on and on about the dysfunction and poor performance of this place but this is not a reflection of UT, this is a reminder for UT to restructure their investment and restire competency into this hospital.
