Wow, certainly the worst hospital I’ve ever had the misfortune of having to visit. Many of the nurses were horrendously inattentive, not checking on my mother after more than 3hrs in pain due to the gallbladder, after calling the nurse twice and going to the nurses station. It seems like they will hire anyone as a nurse in Highlands County. And then once her nurse finally showed up she was the rudest medical “professional” I have ever met. Rolling her eyes, claiming she had been in 3 times before, which she hadn’t, and insisted on giving her meds that hadn’t worked in the ER, even though the previous nurses had specifically written to give her a different pain medication instead. I believe Florida Hospital has an obligation to reprimand staff that acts in this manner to their patients. There are certainly good doctors and nurses here but there are far to many inadequate and worthless ones. I’ve also found some of the doctors to have nonexistent bedside manner. Florida Hospital, you need to fix this. I would NEVER go here if I had the choice, an abomination to the medical profession. It seems the staff here are either completely apathetic, arrogant, and void of any feeling of obligation to provide the best possible care their patients, or the compelete opposite and a shining example of superb medical care, however, I find it is far to often the former rather than the latter.
Edit: Also the head of pain management for the floor came in and asked how the surgery went, she hadn’t had surgery yet, surgery is tomorrow! And then she openly admitted she hadn’t bothered to read the report! This is what gets people killed Florida Hospital.
Had to enter the emergency room on 06/14/2018. At first i was unsure because the lady at the front desk was very blah. But after busting her chops a little she opened up. The nurse that first brought me in was nice but kinda blah as well. He did all my checks then moved me to a room. Once in the room my nurse aid was named Abe. This guy was outstanding. Nice, polite, joked around. You felt like he cared and he was very attentive. The doctor Janette Potter was also great. She took her time to explain things to me. She helped me understand what was happening and answered my questions as best as she could. I was at the ER for a total of about 2 hours which isn't bad at all. I think my only other complaint was the price but i think we can all agree that this is a common problem. All in all a good experience. Abe and Doctor Janette really flipped it around.
My daughter sprained an ankle at camp and they took her to the closest hospital, Florida Heartland. For a couple X-Rays and a foot wrap they billed insurance over $1400 and I ended up having to pay $643 of that. It's criminal. This is where hospital billing is obvious fraud. If you get hurt consider amputating your own appendage before going to that hospital.
Such a pleasant experience. My Doctor was a sweet heart! My nurses were so kind and helpful. Even my cleaning people were kind and helpful.Five stars all the way and thank you!
Absolutely terrible! If you have children And they can make the 2 hour drive to all children’s hospital DO IT!! I have a child with special needs and Florida hospital has nothing to offer him! The doctor didn’t even know what a g/j tube was or the meaning of his diagnosis! No one came to see him till maybe 2 hours later ! They Didn’t check for the flu ignored what I told him sent him home and my poor baby is at home suffering in the same condition. The time I wasted in that hospital I would of made it to st Pete where they wouldn’t send him home without a proper answer!! Sebring needs to do better for our children!! It’s ridiculous how there’s nothing for kids with special needs !! Everything is more than 1 hour away!
