feedback about Glens Falls Hospital
Daughter was in an accident 7/2017, She was 17 at the time and was brought to the emergency room with no Major injuries but better safe than sorry. She had a passenger (also a minor) who complained of pain in his neck. We all sat in the ER for 4-5 hours before being seen then they got a quick once over from the Doctor and released. No X-rays which I though would be necessary with concerns of the neck injury. I gave my information to the Hospital with the insurance claim so they could invoice the Insurance company. I just received a statement 16 MONTHS after for payment. They clearly never used the form I gave them initially, and how something waits that long to be billed is absurd. Once again I will take time out of my work day to collect the information they need and Do their Job for them... I asked for an email to send then information so I can have it documented this time and not just given over the phone and I was told they don't have email... That makes sense.. I mean why would a Medical facility in 2018 have something as NEW and Advanced as "EMAIL"... Good news though Glens Falls, you are only the "Second" worst Hospital I have been to. I do work in the Healthcare field and have been to many...
I'm not sure what the people who gave poor reviews experienced, or expected, but my stay was as nice as a hospital stay could be expected to be. I was there 3 nights. The ER was busy when I was brought in, and i understand critical injuries take priority over broken bones, but the supervising nurse, at least kept me updated and was able to get me some pain meds while I waited. All the nurses, nurse assistants, doctors, nutrition staff, patient transfer staff, ER staff, PT and OT staff were very friendly. The nurses, Amy, Heidi, Heidi, Donna, and Ben were very personable and made sure my comfort was their priority. I enjoyed chatting with all of them every day, they never made me feel like they had other places to be, and they were very kind to my wife while she visited me. The assistants were also great, especially Kelly who was very upbeat. Hospital stays are never wanted, but if you have to be admitted, this hospital will treat you well. They clearly have a great work culture.
I am very disappointed in the staff here!! My 50 year old mother is in desperate need of an mri and possible spinal tap and we have been sitting here sense 11:45 Am! And all that has happened is they have giving her something for her anxiety because it’s through the roof and gave a IV! That’s almost seven hour of my mother having anxiety attacks and panick attacks!! And the doctor proceeds to tell her that she ISNT important!! How do you say that to an upset elderly woman!! Very rude and disrespectful!! And on top of it she decides she’s just gonna go and she wants to be released so she asked for the doctor so we can go... it’s been 45 minutes since then...
We needed bring our 9 month old baby to the ER because he was struggling to breathe during the night. We were on vacation so we looked up the closest hospital and drove him to Glenn Falls. We had such a positive experience.
Our nurse and doctor provided us with great professional care. They gave a thorough examination of our baby which really put our hearts at ease. We couldn’t have asked for better medical treatment for our child. Thank you so much.
I've lived in Glens Falls for all my 59 years of my life. I've gone to the ER,I've have many lab testing done as well as many surgeries. I had through testing and surgery a very rare Sarcoma Cancer discovered in me. The Cancer was so deadly and rare that I had to go to Dana-Farber Cancer institute in Mass.My doctor one of the best surgeons in the world saved my life. I''m 5 years cancer free. I do all my follow up visits and screenings at the Cancer Center in the Glens Falls Hospital. My one week stay at Dana-Farber a world class 4.5 star hospital was awful. I've never have had a bad experience at the Glens Falls Hospital. I'm respectful of all reviews here but it seems like more bad do reviews than do good visits so I'm posting my 5 star review for this hospital. If it wasn't for the Glens Falls Hospital their doctors, nurses all staff. I wouldn't be alive today.I feel compassion for the bad things that happened for the bad reviews. One thing to think about is an ER can be extremely busy.Nurses work very long shifts at times. We're all only human and at times mistakes and attitude issues can happen. If you go into a Hospital anywhere you must go in with an open mind and understand there will be good and bad days. If you ever feel mistreated. Write down names and times of your issues. Set up an appointment after all your hardship with hospital staff and let the ones who need to know what you feel went wrong. I know this hospital very well. They will do their best to try to make your complaint a priority when it comes to making things right for you. I for one am proud that I live in a city that has a hospital as Good as the Glens Falls Hospital has been to me. Thank you Glens Falls Hospital for giving me a reason, to give you 5 stars. I like to see more people with good experiences step up and review.
