I went to the emergency room here. The first thing I was told is why I came there. I was told i
that this is a small hospital and basically can not treat anything but the basics. It was a wasted trip. I made sure they had my correct insurance before leaving. I then receive a bill for the full amount stating no insurance. I called and they had my insurance information from years ago with insurance I have not had for years. I gave them again the correct insurance. I receive a call in a few weeks asking why I have not paid this huge bill. They still have not bothered to file with the correct insurance. I called the insurance. Blue Cross is wonderful. They called HSHS for me. HSHS claimed to them I did not provide the information even though I had given it two them twice.

Dr. Bond was my er Dr. He looked in my ear( I couldn't hear out of it by the way) and said that it looks fine. No drainage. No build up. Your fine. Denied me a Drs note. I went home and got a HUGE clog out of my ear after following a homemade remedy. Won't be going back. Very rude and unprofessional. Even the nurse( I think her name was Gigi) was rude. Cut my wife off every time she tried to talk. This place needs to get it together. Your a Christian hospital. Don't act very Christian to me.

It will get basic stuff right, but anything that is serious, chances are you will be transferred to St.Louis.E.R. doctors are pretty sketchy, expect Tylenol for everything, except maybe a compound fracture of a femur.

Absolutely fraudulent billing practices. Visited Oct. 2016 for a foot x-ray. Submitted application for charity assistance and received 100% coverage. Sent letter to all agencies who billed me (when the hospital should be the one disseminating this information directly to them). Illiana Emergency Phys LLP (also in on this fraud), refused to accept it apparently, but never called or mailed me anything about it. Feb. 2019 I start receiving collections notices from Alpha Recovery Corp about this account. My credit repair company is working to correct this fraud, but this is a heinous abuse of our pathetic health care system. I have a particular disdain for hospitals in general, but even if I were dying I would not allow myself to be admitted back to this hospital. I didn't even get a chance to mention to you my experience that night in October 2016. Some of the nurses seem like good people, but overall this organization needs to be re-built from the ground up.

Last Wednesday at 5am I took my son (22 months old) to the er. The doctor he had was going to send him home but it was a shift change so he was going to let the 7am doctor discharge him, Dr Jaime. I'm not sure of her last name. Anyway after examining him, she decided to transfer him to Children's hospital even though she thought they would look him over and send us home. Children's kept him and that night my son ended up in the icu at Children's. If Jaime let us go home like that first doctor was going to then I don't know what would've happened. I am so lucky she was a part of the staff that morning. She definitely made the right call. I even stopped by the er this morning to leave a message giving her an update and telling her thanks but she deserves to be recognized in a bigger way. 💖
