While driving to California, I discovered I had a detached retina. This was the closet hospital I could get to. I did not have to wait, and was immediately seen by the Emergency Dr. who called a very good optometrist. The optometrist meet with me first thing on a Saturday morning when his office is normally closed, and rushed me into surgery.
Without the fine service in Gulf Breeze Hospital, I would have lost all vision in one eye. I will forever remember their excellent service!
I have taken my child in this ER twice and both times there was nobody else there, yet we had to wait for hours. The staff showed ZERO care or empathy, they were all just staring at their phones and computers and spoke to us like robots. Horrible customer service. My 2 year old daughter dislocated her elbow today and we took her in Gulf Breeze ER, after NEVER getting to see the doctor because "they had a problem with the computer" and nobody showing consideration for a crying toddler or telling us how much longer we have to wait, we simply decided to drive to Sacred Heart in Pensacola instead. I can not put into words what a night and day difference, we were literally in and out with less than 45 minutes even though there were more patients waiting than in GB. The security and reception staff in Sacred Heart were amazing. The doctor walked into the room in less than a minute after we arrived, she made my poor daughter who is terrified of doctors feel so comfortable and fixed her elbow gently so fast she was high-fiving the doctor moments later. If you can drive any further at all, I urge you to just go straight to Sacred Heart!!!
Thank you to the GBH, I had foot surgery and my visit was great. The operating staff was the A team. The nurse that checked me in was very nice.
I received a nerver block in my foot for pain which helped a lot with pain. Less than a week out from my surgery and the swelling is down.
Our community is lucky to have such a high quality hospital. Service is fast, friendly and top notch.
Checked in with complaint of chest pain and feeling light headed. Was triaged quickly and nurse took a EKG and Was told to wait in the lobby for the doctor to review the ekg results. 3 hours later still experiencing chest pains and still have not been seen by a doctor or called back to the Treatment area. It must have been obviously appearent to the staff on duty that my chest pains weren’t life threatening because had they been I would have just died out in the waiting area. It’s horrifying that someone would have to make this kind of judgement call.
