The ER experience I just encountered was awful! First nurse encountered, Peter, after explaining the problem and serious pain, his response and attitude, "well there's very little we can do for you, but I'll get the Dr." As if I was wasting his time. Then a woman comes in and says her name is "Shay" and has another young woman with her we have no idea her name, title or purpose in the room as we were never told, "Shay" is very rude, cuts me of while trying to explain the ordeal I've been going through and the serious concerns I have. "Shay" again makes me feel like I'm an inconvenience to her, states there's little they can do, says they'll do some x rays. When asked an approximate time it would take for a referral to the Andrew's institute, a snippy response of, "I don't work for them, I work strictly ER, couldn't tell you. ." Had the x rays, next person I see is the young man, very polite, who comes in the room to get my co pay payment for the visit and I had to ask him what "Shay's" title even was as she never introduced herself with any title/position or qualification, she's a nurse practitioner. Thank you, young man as you're the only pleasant part of the entire experience and i believe your name was Kyle. Then Peter returns with discharge paperwork and advised to just do what I had been doing, ice and elevation. ..NO ONE tells me what the x rays showed, never saw Rude Shay again to discuss what the x rays showed ... NOTHING! So, I essentially paid $100 for a referral to Andrew's institute! I've been in law enforcement for 25 plus years and couldn't imagine treating someone who came to me for help, in obvious pain with questions and concerns, in such a manner and making them feel I was too busy to be bothered with their problem, or demonstrating an attitude of "what do you want me to do? I'd really like to get back to socializing" (which is what I observed "Shay" and staff doing while I was taken back and forth to x ray) and not being bothered to follow up with the person regarding any information I had discovered, or asking if they had any questions I possibly could answer for or refer to someone who could help them. WORST ER STAFF EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
Any 5 star review is one they wrote themselves or paid for this is one of the worst hospitals in the country don't come here unless you have no other choice. They do have a fun game though a bunch of my friends have tried it all with the same result take your heart monitor off and let yourself flat line and time how long it takes for someone to stroll on I'm and see what's up my time was 32 minutes but I've had a friend get to a little over an hour.
The nurse called me mad because I didn't know the name of a VA doctor that wasn't my doctor, who wrote an order for a scan from them. Now im sitting in their office 40m after my appointment listening to the phones ring off the hook and no one is answering them, (i called because i didn't know where I was going, they didn't answer). There are people here talking in the backroom but no one at the front desk. Not my first experience with Baptist, but none have been good.
Editing with an extra star because the doctors I saw were very polite and helpful.
I was shocked to see such a low rating for this hospital as it was one of my family’s best ER visits. My son injured his food and we were concerned that it may have been broken. We were triaged within moments and in a room in less than 15 minutes. They seemed to be very well organized as before we even saw the doctor a tech was in the room taking XRays of my boy’s foot. This was also interesting as XRays were done with a mobile cart brought to the room so my son never even had to leave the bed. All the staff were very good professional and worked great with children. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by our experience and would not hesitate to return if the occasion raises.
The worst experience in my life.
I went in because of Autonomic Dysreflexia. They didnt know what it was. They thought it was a panic attack. They still don’t know.
I am a T6 paraplegic of 30 years.
They found i had a heart attack in the near past. I was septic with pneumonia. Once all of that was cleared i was put on one of the floors. The rooms are too small and the floor is very noisy. I was treated with total disrespect.
I had 7 rounds of Autonomic Dysreflexia while there. They didnt treat me for that. It could have killed me. My blood pressure went from normal to 250/140. They told me to be quiet. I was disturbing the other patients.
They left me in my stool and urine for 6.5 hours after i called the nurses station. This resulted In Decubitus Ulcers on both side. They were supposed to turn me every 2 hours and that didn’t ever happen.
My room was never cleaned after 10 days.
