Gunnison Valley Health Emergency Room is top notch. We brought my husband in to rule out a MI and from the moment we registered, we knew we were in good hands. Everyone was efficient, soooo sweet, very understanding, and super helpful. We literally were out in 2 hours. AND THIS WAS A FULL WORKUP. The staff was extremely accommodating and we are so thankful. (We needed to catch a 1:30 bus back to CB and they legit got us discharged super fast to be able to catch the bus.) I’ve worked in an emergency room, and discharging patients can take awhile but Dr. Sherman did everything he could to get us out in time. Such great service! A big thank you to Gina, our RN, and Matt! The RT and other staff were super on top of things too! Thank you for turning a scary experience into a positive one!

Front door staff, ER desk staff, and attending ER doctor were caring. Suffering from a debilitating migraine brought me to the Gunnison ER. Female ER nurse I encountered was Nurse Ratchet from One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. Zero compassion and made me get out of the wheelchair to walk with a debilitating migraine. Kept questioning my reasons for being in the ER. Refused to listen to me tell her which arm to put an IV into, she did it her way, couldn’t get an IV in either arm so now I’m bruised on two arms. Insisted on testing for a pregnancy test on me when I insisted I wasn’t. Didn’t believe me, it was only after I explained my condition to the ER doc that Nurse Ratchet eased up the line of questioning. The caring staff know who they are. Next time I will get someone to drive me to Montrose.

The staff in this hospital are amazing!

My fiancé came in uncontrollably vomiting and dehydrated. The lady at the front desk spoke very calmly and sweetly and made checking in easy and soothing rather than some experiences we’ve had at emergency rooms.

The nurse was amazing. Kept everyone calm and relaxed. It was refreshing to have people that care.

I am very impressed with this hospital. We are on vacation and my wife had a 4 wheeler accident. The staff was prompt and polite and took care of her immediately because of the seriousness of her injuries. We got better service here than we would have at home. Thanks to the staff at Gunnison valley hospital.

I would rather not give them any stars for how AWFUL i was treated while being there. I was in a nasty 4 wheeling accident where I flew off the side of a mountain. My boyfriend ran in to tell them I needed help walking in because I might have a head injury. 5 minutes later after walking in and no one was there to help. A very kind lady took me back to my room and got everything situated. The next doctor I met told me I was lying for needing my inhaler and that I was just scared of needles. (I’m most definitely not considering my medical history) another doctor put my IV in 6 times before having to call in the anesthetist who got it right away. All while the staff told my boyfriends dad that it was sad that I wasn’t wearing a helmet, which I was. UNLESS ITS AN EMERGENCY DONT GO HERE
