Nice place to receive medical treatment, it’s always clean and not packed at all. The staff over there are nice and helpful.
The only disadvantage Is being far and you feel it’s isolated.
This is a review of the L&D/maternity center at Pascack Valley. I chose this hospital because The Childbirth Center midwives deliver there and it was closest to upper Manhattan where I live. Little did I know this is the best place to give birth if you want an in-hospital low intervention birth with a midwife. All of the nurses, pediatricians and staff that we worked with were wonderful. A poor review was made earlier of the lactation consultant so I must say that Erica, the lactation consultant that worked with me, is wonderful and met with me multiple times when I had questions, even giving out her personal phone number if I needed to reach out because she wanted to make sure I felt like I could successfully breast-feed my daughter. She’s very knowledgeable on the subject, caring and approachable. Perhaps the earlier review was with a lactation consultant that no longer works at the hospital because Erica is fabulous! There were many things we loved about our time at Pascack: their supportive equipment and policies for a “natural” labor and delivery, the atrium garden you can labor in or relax during your recovery, the small hospital feel with low noise and more personal attention, the harp therapist that played for us... Our time there was superb, we will be back if we have more children.
Please note that this hospital is committed to making money and doesnt care about the financial state of their patients. I was extremely I'll and went to the ER for care. The staff was great. BUT After my visit I received the itemized bill and I contacted hospital for a payment plan. Due to my sicknesses, i lost my full time job, and explained that my health and financial situation is preventing me to work full time. Therefore my income is less and more medical bills to come. Out of all the treating providers, this hospital was the only one not willing to assist me. The hospital demanded for me to pay $100 monthly, which is reasonable if I was working full time hours. But since I'm in an awful financial state, with lots of bills, I ask if I can pay pay $50 monthly until I get medical clearance, which can take 6 months or so. the billing department said is not an acceptable amount, therefore will sent me to collections.
Again never my intentions not to pay my 2k coinsurance responsibility. But asking hospital for help. Instead, the business area prefers to refused my payment and report me as delinquent to the credit Bureas. Where is the sense of doing the right thing? Should i not pay my mortgage and pay the hospital what they asked. After so many calls, and letters I got no where, but was told by the cold billing rep today that the system will sent me final notice, and collection's agency will be in contact.
Hope this serves, as caution to other patients seeking assistance at this amazing hospital.
If you are planning to give birth, this is the best place..small and quiet and efficient staff.
I had an emergency admission followed by delivery after few days here. The labor n delivery nurses are so warm and nice. They won’t make you feel like you are alone in this process. The other side of nurses are super nice too after delivery.
Only service I didn’t like was lactation consultant and I will give her 0/5. She looked impressive and knowledgeable during the hospital tour we had and absolutely useless as a lactation consultant. During 4 days of my hospital stay, she showed up once only for 5 minutes, instructing me how to clean the breast pump parts. She never assessed for the right size of flange, giving advice on nutrition for more milk production, avoid injuries from the pump. She didn’t make any difference in my breastfeeding journey. Her presence doesn’t make any difference for the ladies who gave birth.
Technicians in Radiology were terrific however the Receptionist in Radiology Dept is one of the rudest people I have ever encountered in a Hospital. I voiced my displeasure with Customer relations. Lets see where that goes.....
