First off, I know the bot moderator will reply with some thing about them being a top rated hospital and excessively busy, and I am sure they are. However it doesn’t explain the lack of listening to concerns of parents or what appears to be a lack of proper medicine. I took my daughter in last night to the ED because her feeding tube was acting up, she also had a fever of 102 upon arrival. Wait time was small which was great, good job! That’s where it went south, resident comes in takes a look. Resident and attending want to do a X-ray and check to see if the tube is positioned right, great! That’s all done, says it’s in the right spot,”okay we’re going to discharge you”. So I ask firstly are you going to recheck her temperature since she is still burning up before you just send her on her way. Secondly you never answered our concerns about what was wrong with the tube or gave us an idea about what could be wrong. What do we do if it’s still wrong when we get home, the resident says “ I guess you’ll have to come back.” ..... ....... So I suggested we try to feed her and low and be hold it was not working. So she says we’ll replace the tube, and by we will replace the tube she says “do you have another tube and supplies with you?” Isn’t this a hospital??? But sure we do. They then say “we’re not comfortable putting in the tube so you’ll have to do it and we will assist in swaddling your child and taping.” Wow. Just wow. Overall a horrendous experience, they were just pushing us out without stopping to ask more questions.
The nurses were great, kind and attentive, but the two doctors making the medical decisions need to stop and take 5 minutes and THINK things through before just pushing people out the door.
Very hard for me to give Hurley 1 star because once upon a time I loved this hospital. They saved one of my twins lives when he was born. However the last two time I have been in there I was absolutely horrified. I came in about 5 months ago with weakness and abdominal pain. I was stuck in a room with no test done at all, no blood work nothing and about 2 hours later the doctor released me to go see my primary. ABSOLUTELY nothing was done. I did go to my doctor two days later to find out my spleen was enlarged twice what it should have been and placed as a inpatient in another hospital to get IV antibiotic to see if it went down. Then I brought my 6 year old child in with a lump in his neck. The triage nurse said it looked painful, the nurse who came in in the back felt it and said it was hard but the doctor saw nothing gave him a strep test and sent him home. I sat up all night watching my son tell i could get him to his pediatrician the next morning. By the time he went to his doctor it was swollen half way down his neck to his cheekbone. He had a viral i infections that had spread to his lymph nodes and now needed antibiotic to stop the swelling. No impressed at all.
I went to urgent care and was sent to emergency. The nurse at the front desk with the pink glasses doesn’t have a heart. I am in severe pain. I asked her where I was in line she said she didn’t know. So who should I ask.I pray she never needs medical care. Then they charge your insurance company a arm and a leg. I paid a office call of 40.00 to be told go to emergency. What was the charge for? Robbers Robbers. Hurley didn’t care about people. I feel bad that I’m sick. It’s people like me with Blue cross pay your salary lady in the Pink glasses.
Hurley saved my life. I went in for symptoms that were severe and taken right back due to them being potentially life threatening. After treatment was started my vitals were not improving and my doctor sent me for a scan which showed I needed emergency surgery. I spent 3 days as inpatient and recovered well. My doctor told me it was a good thing I came in when I did. My nurses were so caring and compassionate. They helped me with my postpartum anxiety since i was away from my baby for several days.
I suffered 3rd degree burn over 75% of my hand. Was taken care of very well. Kind, respectful, and professional nurse and doctor care. Thank you for saving my hand.
