My first time to use services at IPCH was on 8/22 for outpatient surgery to remove my gallbladder. I was super impressed with the efficiency of the process from registration to release. The staff were all so courteous, helpful and friendly. Special perk that you get your own private room pre-surgery and return to that room after recovery. No waiting from stage to stage. If I ever need surgery again, I will request it be done at IPCH!

Arthur Lyman

Although it is a small hospital, friendly staff and shorter wait times.

The only decent and clean hospital in Kingsport.

Nurses and doctors are very rude as well as inattentive. The nurse in triage made fun of me for dislocating my shoulder reaching under a couch. The x-ray did not show a dislocated shoulder, and Dr. Kerney was terrible; he kept telling me there was "no medical reason" for me to be in pain as I was sitting there wincing in terrible pain. My guess is he thought I was faking something to try and get drugs. He gave me a prescription for 800mg ibuprofen; I told him I have GI problems and my gastroenerolgist told me to avoid ibuprofen. He ignored me and pushed the prescription on me anyways. It was like he was laughing at me. I just want the pain to stop, I don't care how they do it. My shoulder may not actually be dislocated, but I still cant move my arm without terrible pain rendering me armless for now. I think I may have torn something. A DECENT, CARING doctor would have investigated further, but now I've got a big ER bill for a quack making fun of me and telling me to go home. I am going to an orthopedist for a 2nd opinion.
