Third world countries have a better hospital and staff than this "place".

Starke Hospital needs to change the company that handles their bill pay. You can never get through unless you have a fair amount of time to wait. When they are suppose to correct an amount that's already paid, it doesn't get done. They then send you FINAL NOTICES, (being reviewed for collections) when in fact your bill was paid in full...very frustrating. It took 5 calls to get one bill corrected and that's uncalled for especially after being told it was taken care of with the first call. No one wants their credit marred and the is a perfect example of how it can happen. STARKE HOSPITAL, PLEASE CHECK INTO YOUR BILL PAY HANDLING.

Very difficult to rate as it depends on the staff (nurses and doctors) that are working. The first time visiting the emergency room here we were taken back quickly but the room had dirt all over the floor and there was even a dirty rubber band that someone would use with their braces on the floor. My boyfriend waited for 24 hours that visit for a transfer to another hospital. The next visit was wonderful staff was friendly room was very clean and we were in quickly and he was treated and released. This last time the nurses have been helpful and even referred us to a better hospital for a specialist. However the doctor came in, very rudely, and asked what we wanted to have done. Last time i checked you are the doctor and make that decision. After that he walked out. That is completely ridiculous no doctor should act that way and not even try to figure out what was wrong. This hospital in my opinion needs to go through its personnel and do some restaffing.

Worst hospital I’ve ever been too. My wife was extremely sick and after waiting an hour and a hour to go back to the er the room was dirty, nurses extremely rude and unprofessional. They put my wife’s iv half way in and never came back to fix it or start fluids. After 3 hours of seeing no one and hearing the nurses Champlain about how pathetic starke county and hear them brag about how long of naps they can get on a shift, they finally came back and fixed the iv. Got her fluids and some pain meds. And it didn’t work. They then discharged her and we had to go to another hospital for treatment. They then sent me a huge bill and when I requested that they investigate the issues and fix my bill they sent it to collections. Stay away from starke iu!!!

Absolutely horrible hospital. Had my 14 month old boy there on 12/26/17 with a fever. Waited in the waiting room for 3 hours while he kicked and screamed the whole time. 6-7 people came in and out the time we were there. Some of them even commented to us on the way out that we should have be seen already. I asked the front desk again to make sure there wasn't an issue with our check in. She said there was not. She couldn't give me an explanation of why he had not been seen yet. Had to drive 25 miles to Plymouth on icy roads to other hospital. Saint Josephs I believe. Had us checked in and ran vitals and did chest x-ray within 10 mins. Say they should be back in 30 mins to talk to us.
