feedback about Iowa Lutheran Hospital
I work there plus my son was born there 5 years ago. My wife had 2 of her 3 daughters born there and our granddaughter as well. The staff was so attentive e and really cared. I can't say enough about them.
Personally, I had a great experience today at the ER. They did everything to help me, I didn’t have health insurance and they help me with that. Very nice people.
Zero sense of urgency. Came in with someone that was under my care who was suicidal and homicidal with hallucinations and here I sit 7 hours later in the waiting room with my two staff team members LOCKED in the room with this kid. I do not feel my teammates are safe but of course the Lutheran staff assure me they are.. until they get punched and takes their security however long to get over there. Vitals and blood work done within 1.5 hours and nothing since. The doctor who is supposed to be coming in no one knows about and nurses are avoiding true answers. If you’re in true danger or need immediate help don’t come here!
17 year old daughter was admitted to adolescent impatient psychiatry due to an overdose and substance abuse. She was not referred to a substance abuse facility. She was not prescribed any of her normal medications to take home. The doctor was afraid she may overdose again. She did not overdose on her normal medications. This is the worst mental health facility I have ever seen. We are contacting an attorney.
Last night, sought medical care for my mentally ill wife in Luthern ER, due to bipolar manic episode. 3 hours in the ER; didn't allow family to enter exam room, nor did they ask any information or history from the family to ascertain accuracy of my wife's report. Twice I asked to speak to the examining physician assistant, as I had been advised to do from my wife's outpatient mental health doctor. Admission to the hospital was denied, instructing my wife to continue with her present medications until she sees her doctor for her regularly scheduled appointment in 3 more days! I question the appropriateness of this medical care.
