Labor and delivery nurses Erin, Lauren and Mallory were amazing. My daughter was in labor for 29 hours and each of them were compassionate and truly cared about my daughter and how she wanted her birthing process to go. Dr Owens did what ever it took to make sure my daughter was able to have my beautiful grandson naturally as my daughter truly wanted for herself and her baby. Dr Montgomery was truly amazing as well to my daughter and I want each and every one of them to be recognized for there Excellence.

Needed oxygen and have waited over a month with no results. Very poor communication and service. Have seen specialist still no oxygen. Guess they know better than me if I can breath. Hope I do not need emergency services. I will be dead at this rate. Go to somewhere else. People are very nice but no results.

My mom is a dementia patient. She fell and required a hip X-ray. She was disoriented and difficult. The staff was amazing and so compassionate with her. Very professional. The one minor drawback was that transportation back to the nursing home is outsourced and we spent unnecessary hours at the ER.

Came here for my surgery instead of Uva. One of the best decisions of my life. The doctors, nurses everyone was so kind, professional and caring. Will always come here for anything now. Uva was horrible, didn’t care but made sure you had a big hospital bill left to remember them for.

What the heck was this? It is definitely not a hospital! I have seen better service and competence from hick hospitals in the boonies than at Martha Jefferaon which used to be a class A hospital. We arrived at the ER before noon and did not get seen until 4pm. Once placed in an ER room we sat for hours without being seen! Apparently they no longer do the expedited triage in ER. A wait room sat vacant while the other was filled and people sat in folding chairs or stood in the halls. The staff was a bunch of wide-eyed robots, murmuring "sentara" and afraid of their jobs. The ER doc is one I have encountered before. It astounds me that he is still shuffling out his brand of rude bullying to patients. Sir, you did waste my time. We sat for hours with the same issues that have presented themselves on multiple ER visits. While we had sufficient time to have 2 doses of lasiks to rid this elderly gentleman of fluids, we instead sat wasting precious time doing nothing but staring at each other in a room that no doubt was being held up from someone else. Nothing was done. While debating this ER visit on the drive over, we listed exactly what would be done...bloodwork, chest xray, IV lasiks, the hard sell to stay overnight...yet you fumbled big time because you took hours to offer the first and only obvious treatment. He got lasiks at 6pm! We accepted the offer to stay overnight because we assumed-and yes I asked!- that lasiks would be given again tonight. An alternate would be given if it seemed this was not working. Sure, doctors have done this in the past, often combing two for greater effect. He was settled in the room at 8pm. By 1am, I called and was informed that no lasiks would be given at night! They would be given twice tomorrow! We have just wasted an entire day with this befuddled foolery bullcrap!! I am so angry at the total lackadasical approach to emergency medicine and patient care! A whole grown man has been here languishing for 12 hours and has received only one lasiks, which he could have taken at home, and a cold bag lunch of a turkey sandwich, a bag of chips and an orange. Screw serving jim lunch, dinner, or just finsing out what he wants done! You better believe I will be looking at you angry-I certainly can't look at the tv because it went out hours ago!! What a waste of a building. Do yourselves a favor and become an urgent care Sentara Martha Jefferson. Being an effective hospital is too much of a reach for you. *postcript-the nurse did his best to provide quality customer service and get the ball moving at 1am. He also fixed the television which is apparently, a recurring issue. However, nothing can fix stupid.
