I was scheduled for an MRI, late in the evening. Check-in was fast and easy, as it was in the imaging Dept since after 5pm. Lab work was also fast and easy, and everyone was very friendly. I appreciated the phone charging station in the waiting room as well. The MRI guy was friendly and efficient and explained everything to me, as well as answered my questions. A great experience!
The nurses, aides, administration, and custodians were wonderful. Our Neurologist is outstanding, but the Cardiologist didn’t come until the third day that he was contacted. My daughter was moved to ICU, she was having problems, and the cardiologist couldn’t be bothered to see her. I was scared out of my mind, and he couldn’t come to say anything. I understand that you probably can’t do anything about the doctor.
Everybody knows the hospital is a miserable place. But not the case this time. I had a serious infection that could have cost me my life. Upon arrival I was immediately taken care of. Under the circumstances I had a great time with staff they were helpful kind loving and nurturing. One particular nurse stood out more than the others. Her name was page. The doctors and the staff made me feel comfortable about the situation. Thank you so much everyone that helped me. I love every one of you. There's not a lot of people that could do that job.
My leg was swollen and I was scheduled for back surgery. The staff did venous doppler on my leg and my leg was fine. The results were read quickly with no delay on my surgery.
I visited the stand alone ER in colonial heights 01/06/2019 @0600. My son was given excellent care but the nurse on duty was very rude. The nurse was talking down to me,like I had no idea of how to care for my son. My child had 101.2 fever, with a runny nose and tucking at my ears. I told her when he has a these symptoms it normally indicates an ear infection. She wanted to tell me how to treat a common cold. It seems as if she thought I didn't know how to care for my son because I am black. I felt less than a citizen. By the way I'm also a nurse. We were seen promptly, my son was diagnosed with an double ear infection. The nurse preceded to tell me about a cold, and how I should suction my sons nose. Nothing about the ear infection. The doctor and the billing coordinator were pleasant, and made the experience tolerable. I live in Hopewell I hope this was just one bad apple in the bunch.
