Worst experience over the phone with ALICIA in the ENDOCRINOLOGY DEPT at Kaiser Riverside.
I JUST SPOKE to her. She's RUDE as hell and has zero empathy for someone working in healthcare. The irony is incredible. Alicia if you're having a bad day, please STAY HOME.
I simply called to try and reschedule an upcoming appt for a time that would not conflict with my newly reassigned work schedule. (The person that booked the original appointment, last month, was adamant that I could do this, if things changed for me - no problem).
After explaining this to Alicia she fell silent on the call - to the point that it was deafening. I to asked if she was still there...(on the line). After prodding her to rejoin the conversation, I stated that, I am off thursdays and fridays. She stated the Dr only sees my type of appointments on WEDNESDAYS. Sensing some attitude/ push back from her, I asked if I could then see a different dr, one that has a schedule compatible with mine.
First she said, there ARE NO OTHER DRS. I gasped and repeated what she told me and she confirmed- NO OTHER DRS. I said that's hard to believe.. there's not 1 other endocrinologist in that entire hospital????
Incredibly, she then stated if I wanted to transfer to another Dr, I would "have to start all over again and get a new file with all new labs, the records could not be transferred over"
Miraculously she found a time slot for me, with MY DR, months from now at a time that I can make.
I do not know what is going on at Kaiser in THIS dept but I am definitely frustrated and deeply disappointed. There motto is "live well and thrive", that's all I'm attempting to do.
In addition to all of this, I called back to get the name of and speak to the Chief of Staff for the endocrinology dept and my call was thoroughly screened by a telephone rep named Ashley. She stated she worked for a "service" and was unable to provide me with what I asked for but instead she was transferring me to a supervisor. That's not what I asked for but in light of all the trouble I've gone thru, I felt I should post this experience too.
This is the very first time I've ever had a bad experience with Kaiser. I have recommended them to family, friends and co-workers but I cannot continue to do so after being treated as such.
Honestly, each one of the Drs, nurses and specialist have been great. I don't know what happened today with this Alicia person.
