It's ridiculous how long you have to wait for a scan been here since 11am and we still waiting for a ct scan my sister hasn't had no food they wont allow her to eat yet they don't get nothing done with urgency. Yes Kaiser is everywhere but the staff has not been the best. She has had at least 3-4 nurses we asked how much longer will it take for her to get her ct scans they all say they will check and yet we still waiting. I understand it's a hospital they are busy but seriously unavailable. I'll suggest to go to another hospital that will be more attentive, caring and have more urgency to help clients Horrible horrible horrible!
I am retired from working 30 years in the hospital system. This includes Merritt (now Summit) admissions, Providence ER, and Kaiser Oakland Peds, OB/GYN, Maternity and L&D, so am very familiar with how things should work and also with things that can go wrong. I have been to Kaiser San Leandro a few times for a variety of reasons and have always gotten timely, friendly and generally excellent service. About a year ago, I had a hip replacement surgery there (I was stunned to learn it was now an outpatient surgery). I had a very informative class beforehand, an excellent surgical experience (for as good as surgery can be -:)) and extraordinary follow up the days and weeks after. I did see someone mention the laboratory and would advise patients to make an online appointment before coming, if at all possible. This is critical to your wait time!
I brought my FIL here last night. I understand the wait time if it is busy. What I do not understand is how when I said I needed wet wipes because of an accident he had NO ONE had any to offer. The check-in lady acted bothered when I asked and never looked away from the computer. The information desk had nothing, I even walked to L&D and although the guy at the desk looked in his desk he wouldn't ask workers. When I went back to the ER and asked for towels I was given to. NO ONE bothered to offer towels even after me explaining the situation to everyone. When my husband asked the check-in lady for gowns because my FIL pants were ruined she again acted like my husband was bothering her. They need to get it together. To me it's unacceptable. I will be looking for a phone number to complain further.
The care my mother has received has been a NIGHTMARE. Their negligence during a procedure has caused her so much pain and an infection because it was NOT done correctly. Rude doctors that only care about their ego and not about the patient's interests nor whatever causes the least pain. Stay away from this hospital if you need gastroenterology procedures. They keep you from consulting with surgeons and have you wait ALL DAY to get a response from attending physicians. The nurses are the only professional staff here. We might consider legal action. I'm really disappointed with Kaiser. Sure the facility is decent because it's new but the care or should I say lack of proper care doesn't compensate for such. Will definitely consider wishing medical groups after this. When our family needed help the most, Kaiser has failed us. (0 stars rating is more accurate)
The pharmacy layout needs to be redone -- it's grossly inadequate for the volume of people in the area at one time. I can't sit, stand, or be in the pharmacy area comfortably without someone constantly bumping into me. The line moves fast but I shouldn't have to be here more than 20 mins to pick up a prescription. I've been waiting for nearly an hour. This isn't a "It's busier than usual" day. This is daily.
