Kishwaukee Community Hospital

Amazing experience! I live out in Rochelle and anytime my husband or I need medical care, we drive out to dekalb because they have the best care we’ve gotten in a long time. Kind nurses and doctors, they sit and actually listen to what you have to say. As opposed to the hospital out here where it’s “I went to medical school so I know your body better than you.” They take the time to actually let you voice your concerns. They deserve more than 5 stars.

Upon coming to the ER with a friend whom was having some severe abdominal pain, getting through triage was a breeze. She was welcomed with a warm greeting and friendly staff. UNTIL we got into her exam room. The nurse assignment to my friend's case was very undermining and had a horrible bed side manner, suggesting her symptoms were not urgent, despite the amount of pain she was in. Also the nurse kept hinting and indicating what could be the issue, even though the patient (my friend) was sure of her answers. She was asked the same question three times in the same conversation. If you are looking for medical care, sure they'll supply it, as far as getting genuinely care, do not expect it here. Not all staff were this way, but the few we had to encounter left a horrible taste, will not be using Kish Hospital.

Very caring staff! Excellent care from doctors, nurses, ultrasound technicians and wonderful volunteers. My stay here was pleasant as any hospital stay could possibly be. Room was very clean and private. A fantastic role model of what a small town hospital should be!! Thank you for your excellent care!

Labor and Delivery here was amazing. We have been to other top rated hospitals with our other babies and this hospital was equally good, maybe better. The spaces were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and competent. When an emergency arose they acted with amazing speed and calm decision making. I’d highly recommend The Labor and Delivery unit here.

Worst hospital I've been to. I was very ill and couldn't keep food down for days. I was dehydrated. They didn't bother trying to out an IV in my arm. The staff wasn't nice at all. You're better off driving to a nice hospital like Delnore.
