feedback about Kishwaukee Community Hospital
Very caring staff! Excellent care from doctors, nurses, ultrasound technicians and wonderful volunteers. My stay here was pleasant as any hospital stay could possibly be. Room was very clean and private. A fantastic role model of what a small town hospital should be!! Thank you for your excellent care!
Labor and Delivery here was amazing. We have been to other top rated hospitals with our other babies and this hospital was equally good, maybe better. The spaces were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and competent. When an emergency arose they acted with amazing speed and calm decision making. I’d highly recommend The Labor and Delivery unit here.
My review is not about the care at Kishwaukee Hospital, but instead about Northwestern Medicine billing department. I feel bad leaving my review for the hospital because it is not the doctors' and nurses' fault for this, but I have no other way to convey my concern about the billing department. I have had two very poor experiences where they have sent my bill really late (6 months after the treatment) or they have sent my bill incorrect 6 times. I called them four times to have the bill fixed and each time the call ended with them "fixing" it only to have it be the same issue. Each of these calls took over half and hour to conduct on something that should have been rectified the first time. My suggestion to anyone needing a hospital- if you can, drive an hour to an independent hospital that won't nickel and dime you and has a billing department with their head on straight.
They have sat down and talked to us and listened. They also have helped with all the outpatient stuff that was needed. They told us to feel free give them a call if we needed any questions with anything.
My 3 month old grandson was seen here twice in the last couple of days. The first time they did nothing and sent him home with a fever and said give him Tylenol. The second time they said he had a double ear infection, he was dehydrated from not eating much the last few days and they wouldn't even give him fluids, just send him home with a fever and an antibiotic prescription. The next day he was still very sick and still not eating, so I took him to a hospital in the city not affiliated with Northwestern. They actually ran some tests and he has a viral infection. They are giving him fluids and antibiotics. Kish wouldn't even test for anything. Very disappointed in this hospital and will probably not come here anymore even though I have thought highly of the hospital for the last 10 years. Oh, and I would like to give 0 stars but it will not let me.
