Laird Hospital

Not the worst hospital but certainly not the best either. I have heard they were voted the best in the state. Just curious who did the voting because I didn't get any say on the matter and I can think of at least 5 hospitals I'd prefer over them without thinking about it. I've been to the ER a couple of times since I've moved to Union. I was impressed with how quickly they were able to see me. The area in the back you wait in is semi-private. No walls separating you or the next patient just curtains. You end up hearing whats wrong with everyone in there and listening to the nurses and doctors entertain themselves while you wait on them to figure out whats wrong with you. If you need something minor done like a couple stitches, migraine relief, cold, etc. they'll take good care of you. Something more serious I'm not so sure. At least they do have a helipad for airlifting more serious patients in though.

I took my son to the Emergency Room. We walked in and there wasn’t a soul in sight. Couldn’t find a single person anywhere at the front desk or down the hall. I waited a good 5 minutes. Still no one, so I decided to call the main Laird phone number and I told the lady that answered what the issue was about and I said I needed someone to see my son now. She said, she would walk over there. She walked over to the Emergency Room Department and banged on a solid wood door and a nurse walked out... I gave this hospital a one star review, simply because I feel like that’s pretty ridiculous that you go to the ER and no one is sitting there ready to assist you. After we were finally seen, the rest of the visit wasn’t a long wait at all.

Both of my parents were in rehab at this hospital in 2013 and most of the nurses were very kind to my parents and to our family.

I wouldn't tell no one to go there it's a pitful place I had a friend there I wouldn't want to stay there wouldn't take my dog there not nice take they time doing things I believe they don't like black people that case worker there is hateful the nurses don't clean you good so I atvise no one to go there

Have always been treated wonderfully on an out patient basis. Everyone that I have met have been very hospitable.
