At my doctor's request I went to Lake Wakes Medic Center to have my foot xrayed. I was very pleasantly surprised. Nice, clean entrance with admissions easy to find. They took me right in and a very polite and knowledgeable young man was very professional and quickly entered all my information into the computer, then sent me to Radiology. Waiting time was approximately 3 minutes. Excellent experience!
When i walked out of my father's er bay there were literally nurses sleeping insted of helping patients.. He was in horrible pain and i had to help the nurse apply bandages because the other nurses were sleeping. It just not right this place should be shut down
I had an exceptional experience with my visit to Lake Wales. Nurse Jullett was an expert at her job- she came to my room quite often to check on me and see how I was doing. Nurse Jullett also made me feel comfortable assuring me that everything would be taken care off.
Still just one start and thats because I had to pick one. This hospital is a joke. Went in with severe right side pain. Was given a CT scan and the ER doctor didn't even have enough respect to come and tell me the results. He just sent the nurse in to discharge me. And to make a complaint to an actual person is impossible. If you respect your life DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
I always heard bad things about Lake Wales Medical Ctr. I was scheduled to have a total knee replacement at the hospital on 10-10-2018. I was apprehensive, but trusting my doctor, who said I would be fine, decided to have surgery performed there. From the moment I checked in I was treated with respect and caring. Everyone introduced themselves and told me their job in relevance to my surgery. Once on the 2nd floor the nurses were very attentive, making sure my pain level was under control.
The one and only complaint I have was the day I was released to return home, the entire morning was bad due to one nursing tech. It startrd with being served the wrong breakfast. I was on a regular diet and that morning I was served a liquid diet in error. When I asked tech about it, she only shrugged her shoulders and said she didnt know. Fortunatly a nurse happened by, I explained the wrong tray, she said she would get me a regular tray. Within 10 minutes or less a dietary aid brought correct tray.
A little while later when time to check out the same tech came with a wheelchair to take me out. Never once did she offer to help me into chair. Anyone that has had a knee replacement or anything similar knows how difficult it is to manuver your leg. After we got out to the curb to be picked up this tech stopped at the curb where I would have to step down and then into car. There was a wheelchair ramp about 10 steps away that she could, and in my opinion should have used. When asked about the ramp she didnt do or say anything. My fiance had to get out of the car to help me in. The tech just stood behind the chair. Its a shame one person can ruin what was a positive experience.
