WHAT A TERRIBLE WAY TO HONOR A VETERAN THAT WAS EXPOSED TO AGENT ORANGE AND SERVED HIS COUNTRY!!!!!
My husband Donald Tester was sent to Laughlin Hospital by the VA for an Echo procedure to complete a claim for VA benefits on February 5,2019. He told them first thing that the VA was paying for this. They asked him again for his personal insurance information, which he then told them that VA said not to give them his insurance information. Apparently they accessed his information because he was in the Ballad system. Then they kept saying that they could not do the procedure without an authorization code. He had paper work that plainly showed the authorization code. Finally got checked in and then the Dr. that did the echo, again said ther was no authorization. Showed her where the authorization was and finally got the echo completed. Then got a statement from Ballad yesterday (Mar.25, 2019) showing that they had sent a bill to his personal insurance for payment. He called Ballad and they say that no authorization code was sent with claim showing that this was covered by the VA. He called his insurance and they said that they could not stop the payment --that it was to be mailed today. The agent said that Ballad sould not even have sent him a statement at all, that they were probably going to collect twice for the same amount. Ballad (Laughlin) needs to get their act together. This sholud have been simple, since I"m sure they do these VA procedures all the time. What they did was illegal.
