This place is terrible. We arrived in the emergency room on 2/14/2019 at 8pm to a packed waiting room. That is what we expected. It is now 1AM and we are still waiting. The waiting room is cleared out, not because patients were getting helped, but because they got frustrated with waiting and went home. The only person that received immediate attention was a female who was brought in by the Bay City police. She appeared to be drunk. In and out in about an hour. This place needs to be investigated by the media and the State of Michigan regarding their policies. Administration needs to be given their walking papers.
We had our baby here and everyone on the 3rd floor is just fantastic. One of the hardest and tiring days was made more tolerable by the great staff and atmosphere. Thank you so much for helping us bring our little guy into the world, a day (or 2) we will never forget.
Took my mother to the emergency room because she was having a reaction from her medicine, the er nurse waited till we were the last people in there and when we asked how much longer he yelled that he decides who is next? So we had to go to covenant in saginaw where you are not treated like dirt. Also just last week I got attacked by the female cashier for asking a simple question? This place has gone down hill.
Due to an unfortunate choice when it came to selecting a healthcare plan through the Marketplace; McLaren seemed to be the lesser of two evils. I was wrong. I was pregnant and needed an OBGYN and hence, I was placed with the Health Pavilion. Despite having the HMO plan, I was treated like I was a Medicaid burden. My benefits were not explained to me, I was not made aware that certain procedures, equipment, and care would not be covered and I would be stuck with the full cost of my pregnancy, labor, birth, discharge for my baby and myself, and the full cost of a breast pump. I was even lied to that something was covered and it turned out that was not the case. Despite paying $300+ a month for this insurance, I pretty much got Jack in terms of care. Now, because of everything not being covered, I am now in extreme debt. I consistently made payments toward my many bills, only to be harassed by their billing department because the payments that I could feasibly make did not "meet their standards" of what should be paid to balances and I was threatened with being sent to the collection agency. Lo and behold, I receive a notice that one (of my many accounts because they can't combine the bills together) was sent to collections, and honestly, the person at the collection agency was far nicer and understanding of the situation and willing to WORK with me. McLaren is a blight in healthcare and insurance, if you have no choice but to go there, make sure you ask that whatever they are going to do will be covered by your insurance or else you may end up being threatened by their billing department.
Has anyone else had a stroke at McLaren Bay and not received treatment for it? Has anyone else had their concerns about their condition ignored by staff? Has anyone else been released by this hospital when they were unable to dress without help and walk without help? This happened to someone I know. Just wondering if it has happened to anyone else.
