One of the best hospitals I have ever been to. They have one of the bet Sickle Cell Clinics in Virginia. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone that's in the Richmond area.

Not the Best Hospital when you'd expect the same doctor for Progress Notes, Disability Claims &/or simply- Comfort. Because it's a Medical College, alot of the schedules will be done by Understudies & Assistants, hardly ever seeing the same person on consistant appointments.

BEWARE of vcu, my spouse had a scheduled 2 hr procedure “only a shock, not surgery”. that costed over $50,000.00 “not knowing at that time”
As a construction worker Vcu said they would work with us on this. I cleaned our accounts making large payments towards doctors, anesthesia, lab, etc, and to vcu itself after the first bill.
Later They denied relief from this ridiculous amount so i continued monthly payments “ between $100 & $200 PER BILL”! only to find that they had turned them over to collections claiming not have received but the bank showed they cleared.
Over a several month period They had taken each payment I had sent with each bill and applied them to one account claiming the other account delinquent.
We are a white 1 income family with good credit prior to this.
I do give good reports for the doctors though

This place kind of makes you feel you're not important. I went to get an xray of my chest and I told them my shoulders and chest hurt so much I couldnt raise them to much and the nurse was a little to rough with my arms for my liking to take my BP. after leaving vitals, someone came to get me in a wheelchair about 10 minutes after to leave the room for the xray then they bring me back so my grandmother can help me take my bra off because of the xray. he never came back for another 15 minutes I asked the front desk nurse and she was very snappy with me saying someone will come back eventually pretty much. I kept telling the nurses and doctors it hurt to lift my arms up to even take my jacket off and no one helped me they just let me kind of wince out of it in pain. Then heading back to the room where they tell you if anything is wrong you have to wait 15-25 minutes for someone to talk to you and tell you what's up then another 15-25 minutes just to be discharged. Staff can be rude sometimes well, at least the front desk nurse at the ER place had an attitude when she asked me to explain what was wrong she cut me off in the middle of explaining "so you fell, okay go see the other nurse to my right" like, you asked I'm trying to tell you! Overall, I waited 4 hours just to be prescribed some Ibuprofen. But, hey where else can I you're

The Doctors and nurses are great. They save lives one day at a time.
