As a nursing home admissions coordinator, I have found Mercy Hospital in Ardmore to have an excellent Case Management staff! They are very thorough and professional!

They lied about pricing up front then when the bill was much higher, they calmly explained the price they told us didn't include this, this, and that. In any other industry an estimate is for the whole service! Healthcare is such a scam, how do you get them to nail down a price they are obligated to?

My wife was given an appointment for a sonogram, and ended up having to wait an hour after the appointment time to finally be seen.

The sonogram ended up costing $980, which seemed ridiculous since we just paid $240 for one with one of the doctors that works with Mercy.

We can't afford insurance so we were told that we could apply to charity to reduce the bill. Even though we met the criteria, we were denied because she doesn't have insurance.. So we were told that we would receive a uninsured discount which is listed on there website as a 35% discount. We were denied this as well and finally told they would just accept payments.

Update: We have been talking with the financial office about working out something with our bill, my wife now has to have surgery. We were literally told that because we cannot afford insurance that we are not trying hard enough and therefore won't receive any discount or financial assistance.

I work full-time often over 50 hours a week and do side jobs when I can, I try, if I could afford insurance I would have it for us.

If I could give no stars I would. I've been to mercy er 3 times. One if the times was for my 2 year old daughter who just filled her diaper with blood when she pooped. All they did was swab her butt to see if it was actually blood. SERIOUSLY! said if it happened again to bring her back and they would do a full work up on her then.

The other 2 times was for my husband. He had been having a migraine for 2 weeks straight. They gave him benadryl and said he just needed sleep. HE GETS 8 HOURS A SLEEP AT NIGHT!
The other was tonight. Sevier chest pains causing him to cripple over. They ran tests but didn't want to share the results of the tests. The "doctor" looked to be 12 and was rude! Talking to him like the pains weren't actually there. His heart was skipping beats and I had to mention it to the nurse. Aaaaaand, you guessed it. Nothing was done. They gave him meds that put him to sleep and sent him home.

THIS "HOSPITAL" IS A JOKE.
