Mercy Hospital Carthage

I don't know whether it is short staffing or simply poor leadership, but found the service here to be less than professional, especially in the evenings at the emergency room. There could be a lot of improvement made IMO. In my particular instance, we had to be picked up again by ambulance from this hospital and go to Freeman West in Joplin in order to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. Those minutes cost my parent dearly in the amount of damage and time for recovery.

Absolutely hate having to go to this hospital, but being that it’s the closest to where we live sometimes it’s necessary when there’s an emergency. The last time we had to go was for my 3 year old who had an ear infection. The older Male Hispanic doctor was uptight, and would impatiently cut me off each time I tried to explain what was wrong. He seemed annoyed and arrogant and made the trip more unpleasant than what it already was. On another visit they gave my husband the wrong type of medicine which turned out to be too acidic for his stomach, so we had to take him to the ER in Joplin so they could give him the correct medicine. I have been there for other small reasons and I can’t say I’ve had a good experience with any of them. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE THE CHOICE TO GO TO JOPLIN INSTEAD. They will literally rack you up an unecessary hospital bill and make your trip all the more unpleasant that what it probably will already be.

ABSOLUTELY outstanding care highly reccomend er staff on September 29th 2019 843pm they are outstanding and so very much care for you the x-ray tech she was a sweetie God Bless this hospital.

Went to have my daughter's foot looked at The ER Doctor was for short and quip. The hospital staff as a whole seemed great but that Doctor makes me never want to go back.

I had exceptional care today at Mercy Carthage. My nurse, Larry, was absolutely the best and Dr. Featherly took care of my issues. My family was out and not available and they continued to give me meds I needed and checked on me frequently. I felt safe and secure In knowing I was being treated by such great professional individuals. Larry definitely deserves the Daisy award and If there was a such thing for the Docs-Featherly should have one too. The lady that came and got me for a cat scan made sure I was comfortable before she left. She even went and brought me a warm blanket! Thank you Mercy Carthage for the great care your staff provides.
