Mercy Medical Center – Cedar Rapids

Went to the pain clinic yesterday and was extremely nervouse about getting a shot in my back. They were awesome they gave me a light sedative and I did not even feel the shot. I was so nervouse about it for weeks I would recommend the pain clinic to every one.

Their care staff is very personable. The 24/7 meals are awesome! The physicians are extremely bright, accomplished in their fields, friendly, and easy to talk to.

I just called them. They asked what I needed help with and I said I'm looking for a primary care physician and the receptionist immediately hung up on me. A simple "I can't help you with that" would have sufficed instead of hanging up on me.

The Mercy mental health facility did not help us get help for our mentally ill family member during a recent commitment. Although we provided over 200 death threat texts, pictures of an assaulted family member, pictures of property damage to our home, and a recording of the person threatening to bash my skull in with a hammer, the attending physician released the family member due to "no signs of dangerousness", so no treatment/counseling was given, and he stated the mental health problem should be dealt with in the prison system. This is an example of how tragic outcomes occur and warning signs ignored by our mental health system. There has been a subsequent assault and daily death threats and we have no options to force our family member to get treatment. In fact, this evaluation outcome was presented in front of our family member, reinforcing that his behavior is acceptable/not dangerous and he taunts me with that as he threatens to kill me. My review would be a zero if possible.
