I gave birth to my daughter here 2 months ago and let me tell you, absolutely best maternity ward. I was induced and in active labor for 32 hours. My first nurse Jen(which usually worked in the intensive care unit) was amazing. She helped me through all my questions and pain and was there for me. She would helpd my husband move me and I'm not a tiny person! My second favorite nurse Michelle was a trooper. She was there for me for over 12 hours, walked me through my pushing for 3 hours and was there the whole time when I ended up needing an emergency c section. The nurses and doctors at MercyOne are top of the line. I will be having my next child here❤
I had a surgery in Mercy hospital this spring 2019. The doctor was great and took care of me every day would visit me and make sure am doing well. The only problem was some nurses that did hurt me a lot when giving me medicine in my veins, very young and did not get enough good training or not focusing right. Two of nurses they were very weird and scared me, gave me the wrong medicine that cause bad reaction and one of them was asking me if I have pets in home and she was like touching my hand or shoulder like she is doing with cat or poppy. They need to be responsible for their staff training or watch what they are doing.
I am really disappointed in the way the nurses were towards my father when he was in the ER. They were mocking and repeating everything that he said making it seem like he was exaggerating over his pain. I thought they were very rude and the way one of the other nurses helping were laughing was not polite either. Normally I have a good thing to say but this was very disappointing.
They took good care of my son. Life flight as well
If you want consistent and accurate care for any needs, even with emergency room visits; save your money and time by going to someone else. Time and time again I’ve been met with horrible bedside manner by 95% of the doctors and the nurses are not too far off from the doctors on that number either. If you’re Trans or any other part of the LGBTQ2, I recommend that you go get proper care from another facility. I was admitted into the hospital for 4 days, the entire time the staff was inconsistent with their care methods, for instance dispersing medication on time. Most of the time the meds were given to me at least 3 hours after when they were due. Totally over staffed, yet ran as if it was understaffed. Doctors and nurses spent more of their time talking about their daily lives outside the room rather than answering my our call lights or initiating care with the patience. Numerous times my trans friends were told by staff that they were using the wrong bathroom and were completely disrespected and faced personal issues because of this. Save your time, and your health. There’s much better facilities out there to properly care for you.
