When I tried to pay for my visit they told me billing was down and they would have to send me an invoice in the mail. They never sent me a bill and put me straight to collections. I paid promptly checking in with both the hospital and collections to make sure it was cleared up. 3 months later and collections is still harassing me because the hospital never removed me from their system. I don't understand how a hospital can be so unorganized.
I love the way the Dr go out of their way to help everyone.
My first and last visit was 8/10/2017 in which I just received a bill for today. I have insurance. Because I work in medical billing I knew what questions to ask before being seen. I asked registration if they were in network (par), she said yes I asked were the physicians bill separate she said no. I even called twice and was told I did not owe anything. TODAY, almost a year later I get a bill for $875.00 then someone called me & left a message. When I called right back The rep Angela said this is a physicians bill. I asked her for a detail statement, she said contact your insurance. So you want me to pay a bill without a detail . The bill just says $875. It shows nothing. Then it says if you have other insurance submit the bill to them. Now THEY know it is past the timely filing deadline for any insurance. Angela said she could not give me details on the bill because they just send the bills to them and they send them out. That made no since to me until she said she was in Texas. It seems like to me their representatives need some training. I asked her to put the account on hold and she said she couldn't I had to contact the hospital directly. She said a lot a bills went out a year later. But the phone # on the bill was what I called. I think she was working from home honestly and she just answer calls not questions because she answered the phone Hello not Suburban Community Hospital. I had to ask if this was where I was calling and she said yes. I am sending a complaint letter to the hospital and the Attorney General regarding their practices. I also plan to post this on social media and contact NBC. This is crazy.
Sheree Wylie is the best patient account representative I have ever spoken with. She has helped me with medical bill issues in such a painless way, and every time I call her with a question, she answers it quickly and last time she said if I ever need help with anything insurance related I can call her or just come in and she will help me apply (Medicaid). She deserves a raise.
My son broke his arm playing baseball, we were seen promptly in the E.R. and the staff were professional and very nice. I was very satisfied.
Update: ER doctor diagnosed my son with green stick fracture, turns out after 10 years of age you can't get this type of fracture, actual diagnoses was a buckle fracture according the big league docs at chop.
