feedback about Methodist Dallas Medical Center
I just wanted to leave a message for the ER staff and surgeon staff. Since the moment my boyfriend and I arrived, the ER staff were prompt, helpful, and caring. Specifically, Lyn, R.N. immediately uplifted our moods and showed that she was the best nurse for us to have in that ER. I would recommend her care for anyone of my friends or family! My boyfriend had a broken arm, in terrible condition, upon arrival. We had been sent home the night before from a different ER who advised us to wait to set up surgery, but consulting with several medical professionals of my own personal circle, they convinced us to have a second opinion on how soon to have the bone fixed. I am so thankful to have chosen Methodist Dallas as our place of service. They took great care of my boyfriend, before and after surgery. The surgeons were amazing as well and kept us up to date with the progress during surgery and informed me and his family of every detail that needed to be shared about his condition and recovery. I am very pleased with both teams for all of their help. Methodist Dallas Hospital will be my future choice of service for any other emergency I or a loved one may have. Thank you.
I had no idea when my biological mother was admitted on Wednesday that I would receive the assistance I was asking God for. I asked God to please just help me, due to her many illnesses and living arrangement I felt overwhelmed and so powerless. Then my mother gets admitted, and I'm contacted by a social worker named Alex. The minute our conversation started she put my mind at ease. I had been struggling finding the care my mother needs, she needs 24 hour around the clock care that I can't provide family and a full time job. Alex is a godsend, I had no clue there were people who still genuinely cared and understood your struggle. With a family member who is mentally ill, and now very ill physically. Alex has assisted me with nursing home placement for my mother. I didn't think I could get her into a nursing home facility due to multiple closed doors. Thank you for having such amazing staff who genuinely cares about others and understands life as it can get the best of all of us. Because of her, I feel at peace and serene knowing my family member is in great hands. My adopted mother (my aunt) actually passed away at this hospital, remembering back in 2011 we received such great care from your staff making her last days comfortable and peaceful. This hospital provides excellent care for their patients, and such peace and comfort for the family members with a commitment to be genuinely helpful. Also, thank you for finding something very serious another hospital missed.
My friend who was taken here from Waxahachie after a motorcycle accident was treated like an object. He had a broke back, ribs and foot. Full back brace, boot on the foot and could barely walk or stand. He was in the ICU. After just 3 days in the hospital they told him he was being discharged. When told he was indigent they suggested a shelter. No offer to get him there even just that they would give him a list of contact info for a shelter. Basically "sorry you can't walk or stand but get out of our hospital and good luck. Do your physical therapy and rehabilitationat a homeless shelter". I can't imagine being dumped at a shelter when you can barely move. When asked about the fact they are a "Methodist " hospital and was there any kind of Christian charity or compassion to be had, they simply said no. They also said they weren't in the business of making people as good as before they came, they were there to simply get the person to a point they could send them home. He had no insurance so even though he would have benefited from rehabilitation that wasn't an option for the uninsured. While a few of the nurses were kind, the physicians and those from the patient advocacy were straight up cold as ice. Our health care system is for the rich and insured, every one else is second class and this hospital epitomizes all that. Go elsewhere if you have the choice.
This hospitals doctors have no bedside manners whatsoever nor do they know how to treat their patients as human beings. They made what was supposed to be a memorable moment in our lives into an unforgettable experience for all the Wrong reasons. The doctor that delivered our baby was very insensitive to my wife when she was in pain trying to deliver our baby and his exact words to her were “ you decided to have a baby so it’s time to push him out” and just 10 minutes later a labor and delivery nurse also told my wife to “be quiet and stop crying because it wasn’t going to help”. I plan on taking this to the Texas medical board and the news outlet if need be because no pregnant woman should be talked to in this manner. My advice please stay away from this hospital unless you like being disrespected.
Methodist Dallas ER is the worst ever. Do not come if you are really sick. The front staff are rude and uncaring. If you go be ready to sit in the lobby for at least 5 hours. Please remember if your stay is during shift change, good luck
