I would rate them a 0 if I could ! Literally the worst experience of my life delivering my baby at this hospital! I can literally write a book of all the horrible things that happened to me here. If you have the option to deliver at a different hospital I would say take it! Especially if your African American.
Not only did I give birth to my firstborn but I am now pregnant with my second and can’t wait to deliver here again! It was an absolute dream and they treated me beyond amazing and 3.5 years later I still think about how amazing this hospital, well the amazing staff made my day! We also take my daughter here for trips to the ER and they are always updating the environment to better help the people in the community and wait times. They always always have friendly check in staff who are silly and treat your children like family! The nurses and Dr’s are amazing, they listen and always care! Being a first time mom I was always in the ER and they were always happy to see me back for the 100th time! Thank you Methodist for always providing amazing care!
Hello Human kindness.
My youngest son was born here. This was a no pressure environment for wife, baby and even husband to just kind of recover from the whole ordeal. We only saw the surgeon once before the delivery and that was ok. The nurses in labor and delivery we're really cool. Of course this was before Dignity came into play. I don't know what it's like now. I work in Med/Surg.
Spent a few days here during the process of delivering my daughter. Only spent time in the labor and recovery areas of the hospital so I cannot comment on everything. The emergency area was packed on most nights we passed through so be aware of wait times. Parking was difficult to find during the day close to entrances and exits but wheelchairs are available if needed. The food was just ok and not many choices were available. The staff however and the specific care I recieved in labor and delivery was excellent. I spent two nights in pregnancy triage with contractions and false labor. I then came in for a c section and had to stay two days for recovery. Everyone was professional and caring. I had my own room to recover in and had attentive nurses around the clock.
I came In for my scheduled c section and I was greeted by holy and holy took very good care of me she made sure I was comfortable and aswered any and every question that I had then she disappeared when I came to the recovery room and Yvonne appeared which was cool cause Yvonne went beyond she made sure I was comfortable gave me encouraging words in the surgery room also made me feel good about myself and answered any question that I had she even checked on me plenty of times to see how I was which made me feel at home, but the bad thing was while in the surgery room I was poked three times and I don't remember her name who did my spinal tap but she poked me there times and hit a nerve I now have bad back pain which I did not have while laying in that hospital bed Maybe due to them giving me high pain meds but my back is in so much pain , but my surgeon was doctor waters she held me while I got my spinal tap done she was amazing and fast and she was very patient with me,the one who poked me tricked me and told me she was numbing my back only til doctor water came In to sooth me but she ended up rushing and hitting a nerve to where my leg jumped and I felt instant pain and tingles I cried so hard cause I was told I could have been paralyzed, anywho I stayed two days and the nurses Veronica ,Anna ,Yvonne ,holy was great to have however the pediatrician seem to have a attitude when I told her I wanted to rest after having my baby then she was cool the next day except the last day she looked out of it ,however I do not like that they don't have a food menu they choose what you eat but the congratulations meal was good but other then that I had to eat sandwiches to fill me up from the baby plates that I was given, other then that the same thing played on TV so I was very bored I did not like that they did not have a nursery so mommy's could rest ,I had my baby the entire time which is cool the father was their the entire time,as for the social worker he makes sure that you get what you need and he is very helpful as far as me having a boy no one explained to me how much he was suppose to eat and no one taught me how to clean his private area since they do not do surgery there for the boys private area, but other then that the discharge was pretty rapid I did not like how we have to wait on them in order to leave they have to see the baby get in the car which is odd other then that the alarm went off for a baby that wasn't mine I had to stay longer with security gaurds around us as if we was stealing our own baby which is good as long as we know the babies are safe there, and when I did walk around the area the nurses at the station was pretty friendly I did not like how I would call them with the red light and it took them a hour or so to answer but they did give me their cell to call incase of emergency or I need anything .other then that I won't be back to deliver due to me being inlo e with Stanford hospital and the way they treat me I felt like I was at a more knock off hospital but it was my insurance.and I like how I was able to shower I did not like how the nurses took forever to come to my room when my child was throwing up from the nose they put me on pause which it's not pose to be that way I was very concerned other then that the birth certificate lady came in and did her job very well and professional I do not like how they let students give the babies shots without asking us first .but overall not a so bad place to deliver.
