I came to this hospital with my husband who needed to been seen... For starters, I walked outside around 5:30-6am to get some air. I noticed an elderly lady roaming around in the middle of the road, looking panicked, without a jacket and didn't see anyone with her. I talked her into coming back into the lobby while I spoke with someone at the desk about helping her. She obviously has dementia or Alzheimer's as she couldn't answer any simple question i asked and didnt even know she was in the state of Georgia. The security guard (who was an actual police officer, not just a guard) had been standing at the door occasionally looking over at us almost like I was doing something wrong and like he was ready to attack and tase me on the word go. So I walk up to him first and tell him about the lady roaming in the middle of the street and wasn't safe to be out there by herself since she didn't even know where she was. He copped an obvious attitude and his response was, "look ma'am, I'm aware of her situation, however hippa laws will not let me discuss it with you since she has already been treated and released from this hospital" and gave me a jerkish smirk. I was blown away by his response!! Hippa laws?? I wasnt asking anything about her condition or what she had been seen for or anything personal! I was INFORMING the hospital SECURITY guard about the confused, lost, elderly lady in the middle of the street in front of the hospital on the verge of getting HIT BY A CAR!!!! I then told the ladies at the front desk who looked at me like I was speaking a different language when I told them the situation and said "umm, okay...." and then went back to chitchatting when I walked away! I'm mean seriously???? This is what the world is coming to?? Nobody cares about an elderly lady in her predicament with no one to help her? My faith in humanity has been completely lost forever as of today. God willing I will NEVER come back to this hospital.
On top of all that, my husband and I were left in a room in the E.R. for 19 HOURS straight and didnt even see a doctor until we had been here for 14 hours. And they werent even busy! The ER nurses were SO RUDE and unfriendly and wouldn't even listen to anything I had to tell them about my husbands condition. They basically let him lay there for 19 hours completely out of his head from prolonged high blood sugar and made it pretty obvious that they couldn't care less. They came to tell us that they were admitting him to the ICU and then walked out of the room and we didnt see anyone again for another 3 FREAKING HOURS. I guess they were scared they might mess up their hair or makeup if they had to attend to patients needs.... DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND YOUR LIFE! THERE IS ANOTHER HOSPITAL IN CLOSE PROXIMITY!!!!!!!
Rushed through everything. Didn't seem to sincerely diagnose my mom. Discharged her her and we had to admit her to a different hospital that evening.
The staff in cardiology, trauma & ICU were angels. It was at check-in that we experienced problems. I pulled up to ER, ran in and told the girl at the front desk that I needed someone to help my boyfriend out of the car because he was having chest pains. There were 2 girls sitting there and another girl in a room to the right. One of the girls at the front desk told me I’d have to get him myself because they didn’t have anyone there to get him. They gave me a wheelchair. Upon bringing him in the girl said she could do nothing until we filled out paperwork. At this point my boyfriend starts to hold his chest & yelled “hurry!” The girl at the desk continued to say you have to fill this paperwork out. Finally another girl began an EKG, she looked nervous, and said he needed to be admitted to trauma immediately. He was having a heart attack right there. During all of this, the two girls kept chatting about their weekend. As I’m asking questions & signing paperwork they very openly had a discussion: “so any way he said this & she said that”. It was very strange & not acceptable for an incredibly scary moment in our lives. This occurred on the morning of 6/23/18 and I hope it will be addressed.
I would give 0 stars if I could. I'm 20weeks pregnant went in for ab & lower back pain. My husband and I waited so long for someone in the L & D triage to come down and get us they never did. Just so happen a nurse in the er came out and we over heard her say "she's been waiting this long to get upstairs and she pregnant". She call my name and took us upstairs, she was very concerned and that made me glad. Long story short we never got our questions answered still went home with a question mark above head. They just treated us as if we were bothering them and should've stayed home.
Been in this emergency room waiting for two days with my elderly dad with appendicitis waiting for surgery. This is absolutely ridiculous! Do NOT come here if you need help.
