feedback about Mile Bluff Medical Center
I apologize to all of the good people who work at Mile Bluff but avoid going to the Emergency Dept. unless you have no other choice. What a cluster. I am an ex-paramedic and have worked in big city, high volume EDs. I was appalled by the treatment I received. I was never seen by the one and only doctor on duty in the half hour plus I was there. I left AMA (against medical advice) and filed a patient complaint. The response I received is a testament to mediocrity: they were satisfied that the care I received was adequate and the nurse was not incompetent, just flustered. A few weeks later I had a recurrence of the heart problem which brought me to Mile Bluff and my wife drove me to Baraboo on icy roads rather than return to Mile Bluff - I figured if I tanked on the way, we could get an ambulance from the Dells and I would still avoid Mile Bluff. I will not go to Mile Bluff again unless I'm facing imminent death and I'm brought there by ambulance.
We arrived at 7:30 PM last night to be treated for a broken ankle. Left, untreated, at 10 PM to seek other care. I was never treated, was never offered a decent method to elevate my foot - literally cradled my leg for 2.5 hours!! Ended up going to St. Claire Medical Center in Baraboo where I was IMMEDIATELY treated and ultimately diagnosed with a triple break in my ankle: Trimalleolar break
Nice job Mile Buff Medical Center - MAJOR FAIL!!!!!
Was taken here by ambulance for possible cardiac issues on a weekday early evening. The ambulance medic was the most helpful, unlike to staff who took care of me. The nursing staff was the most stoney faced unfriendly people I have ever met. Dr. Paul Rudy was professional. Where I work, we treat our animal patients a whole lot nicer than these people did me. No one checked on me for very long periods of time and I was never updated on what I was waiting for. I eventually removed my own IV catheter and all monitors and stick on sensors and asked to be discharged. No one even realized I had done it all myself. Terrible place to be when you are unsure of what has happened to you. No answers were given. Just a paper on Having a Heart Attack.
Nobody should have to leave the doctors feeling helpless.. I hope that none of you ever have to experience what ive gone through. Everytime I go in im not looked at as an emergency when I literally feel the life draining out of me. The doctor that dismissed me today is the same doctor that dismissed me when my cyst was about to BURST inside of me. I decided to go see another doctor and immediately he called to schedual me for an emergency lancing to get it out. Overall, I have had a very very bad expirence and im in so much pain... i just want to be better and seeking out help from Mile Bluff's facilities do not seem to help what so ever! Definitely will be switching to another Healthcare provider...
I have had the pleasure of meeting many of the staff and found all to be very knowledgeable and willing to help in any way. Thank you for your kindness and for sharing your time and talents with me.
