I had my two boys at this hospital and they were amazing. They were very attentive and kind, they kept me updated on everything and would answer any questions or concerns I had to the best of their knowledge, if they didn't had an answer at that moment they would always get back at me asap.
My other experience was in the ER, my husband had abdominal pain which ended up with a surgery .Since the minute we arrived at the hospital they showed that they care. After his surgery he got transferred to a regular room in one of the towers, and the doctors and nurses did an amazing job with him and explained everything in detail to a point where it was easy for him and I to understand what was going on. I highly recommend this hospital.
UPDATED: I spoke with someone over the unit I was in. She sounded sincere, remorseful and truly apologetic and they are going to investigate how all this occurred. I do hope they get to the bottom of it. Nothing like this should ever happen to anyone, especially in a hospital. While I appreciate the call, and her honesty and apology, I have decided not to change the review. Nothing changes what happened and hopefully they work that much harder as a result. I do appreciate the follow up though and I wish her good luck in preventing this in the future.
Easily the worst hospital I have been to. The lack of communication between the staff, especially the nurses, is amazing. The attention to detail is non-existent. They had the wrong allergies, the wrong medicine, the wrong reason I was there and even the wrong reason how I got there documented. One of the nurses defied the doctor's instructions for the medicine I was to be given and the doctors changed the medicine without updating me and for no reason. I was there for a very specific treatment. Their lack of caring and attention to detail caused me substantial pain and discomfort that lasted far after I was discharged.
But the final straw was the last day. The IV was draining into my arm. I used the nurse call button, but no one came. As the pain increased I called again and this time no one even answered. I was watching the clock. After 10 minutes, as the pain became excruciating, I started calling out loud and finally had to get up, run out to the hallway and scream for attention. Thankfully, I was mobile. I can't imagine what would have happened had I not been able to walk.
Bottomline, you go to this hospital to die. They don't care and are either under staffed, inattentive or uncaring and incompetent at worst. For your own safety, use another hospital if you can.
I fainted today and hit my head and spine on the wall, falling backwards. The ambulance took me to Mission Hopsital. After one hour of waiting for a Doctor in pain, I asked an RN why it wa staking so long. Her response was, "There are way more people sicker than you that need a bed and we are full" with a scowl and bitter look on her face. Several nurses showed zero empathy, concern, or even any ounce of compassion or concern. After 5 hours of waiting in a chair, with a throbbing headache and neck pain, I waljed out the front door without anyone even noticing. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. Terrible service. Sigh. ER personnel looked burnt out, understaffed, and angry :(
Do not go to ER unless you are really dying. I am sorry to be so negative, I used to be very found of this hospital but today all the staff let me down. My mom (74) was sent by the urgent care office to have a STAT ultrasound for a possible DTV. The ultrasound turned out negative. What is the next step? We were not considered "emergency " anymore so here we are waiting there for hours. After 3 hours I asked the nurse how much longer. She didn't know. At the same time the doctor didn't want to dismiss my mom which was in very bad pain. I understand ER is for emergencies and ambulances that come in and everyone is very busy taking care of much more sick people. But how about the rest? What choices did we have? Wait for how many more hours? Who knows...nobody knew. My mom could not wait there any longer. After 4 1/2 hours we left. All I know she has no DVT, and tomorrow I have to try again the urgent care office with the hope that I won't be sent again anywhere else and we can find a treatment for her.
Wow! The garden cafe was great! I would definitely rate 5 stars! Wow!
