feedback about Mount Carmel West
These folks are true professionals. I had to go there last night, and they were wonderful. Truly a great hospital in the middle of the city. The emergency room is very clean and they don't ask you about all of the insurance stuff up front. They instead attack the problem. Thank you again!
I regularly come to this hospital for treatment of ulcerative colitis. The staff has never been rude to me, although they may be a bit slow at registration sometimes.
My 5-star rating is mainly for the Emergency Room visit I recently had. I went to OSU Main first for some abdominal issues and they sent me off with no diagnosis and no helpful medication. When the symptoms got worse I decided to go here instead.
I was treated so kindly by everyone that worked there. They were careful to make sure nothing upset my stomach, offered to turn the lights off so I can rest before leaving, and kept a nice supply of warm blankets coming so I wouldn’t be cold. The nurses were friendly and checked in often to see if I needed anything. The doctor gave me his business card so that if I had any concerns about the upcoming surgery I could contact him.
They did blood work, urine testing, and a CAT scan to make sure they didn’t miss anything. When my imaging showed an issue with my gallbladder, the doctor made sure I had every resource for surgery and recovery, as well as life changes like diet restrictions.
I was given the option of scheduling my surgery through the office, or if my symptoms were too much to handle I could have emergency surgery. I opted to go through their office, which takes a little longer so they gave me pain medication to make sure I was comfortable until then.
The entire experience was completely different than any other emergency room I’ve been to. Usually I find ERs trying to push people out as quick as possible. I was only here for about 4 hours but I felt like every person I interacted with genuinely wanted me to feel better as soon as possible
Despite the awful disparaging news of one or more of their staff and the biggest nightmare scenario any hospital could face its refreshing and inspiring how mt. Carmel has handled this awful situation. Their main website acknowledges the situation, gives facts and they appear to be upfront in accepting responsibility.
I can't imagine any other organization in today's society with such strong laurels. I have absolutely no affiliation or experience with this place but felt compelled to write a review based on their forthwrightness and cander.
Prosecutors and police are investigating the deaths of at least 29 patients with the Mount Carmel Health System who may have been given large fentanyl doses to hasten their end.
My 1st exp.at a Mt.Carmel was East. Taking into the ER by a friend. I collapsed ,sweating, chest hurting, blood pressure was sky rocketing. After siiting in Er for 2hrs in a wheelchair(with chest pains) got seen by ER Dr. Thinkful,it was not a heart attack. That er dr. told me they didnt have time for cases like me. I guess because i didnt have that heart attack,he was dissappointed. 2nd. mt.carmel west for pain management. went through 2 sets of ablations, didnt work. Had to leave state for mother in laws funeral. They wouldnt give me a script for my pain(it was time).because i couldnt come in for a drs appt. guess my mother in law should of made sure it was good for their time frame to die. 2400ml round trip in intense pain. It should really come to surprise. Mt.Carmel missed diagnosed my friend with Chrons disease for years. Misdiagnosed another for years and he had a hole in his heart. Found out somewhere else. Oh lets not forget their neurosurgeon that told me i had no nerve damage. Ive had severe nerve damage in my lower back for quite a while. And my last ablations, there was a miss somewhere. So,now i have a whole new pain on my left side of spine.the 2 stars are for the ladies in the office. Nice people. I was actually approached by someone to write a report about my experiences with Mt.Carmel. Not sure if had anything to do with the Dr.Death or what. Just happened.
