Mount Desert Island Hospital

Words can not express the gratitude I have for this hospital. Their staff is professional and compassionate. If you are in the Bar Harbor area and in need of immediate medical attention I highly recommend this place.

I injured my wrist and was in severe pain but I had to wait for 2 hours in ER for someone to come and ask if i was doing okay or not. After almost 3 hours a doctor came to see what happened to me, again had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to come and take me for my Xray. So much disappointed with the service.

The hack Dr Weiss misdiagnosed my case of shingles which lead to an extreme case and now nerve damage. This hack of doctor lied to the hospital director and now I am forced to Perdue legal means. Shame on you and shame on your for not taking the time with your patient so a correct diagnosis could have been made before I was left with scars across my face and nerve damage!

My wife dislocated her shoulder hiking in Acadia National Park (it was visually obvious). Upon walking into the emergency room she was brought to a room for x-rays almost immediately. We were very impressed how quickly they attended to her. The staff was great and attentive and went out of their way to mail a disc of her x-rays to us (which beat us home from our vacation). From time time we stepped foot into the ER to walking out to our car was just over an hour! I was prepared to spend my entire afternoon there but was very pleasantly surprised at their speed and efficiency. It's not often that one feels compelled to write a complementary review of any medical facility. In this case, MDI was so amazing that I feel obligated to call out my gratitude. Great job everyone! (Maybe we'll change our opinion when we get the bill.)

Took adult daughter to MDI hospital 7/22 as she was experiencing debilitating nausea/headache/dehydration due to medication interactions and everyone at the hospital was wonderful to her!!! Big thank you to all the staff including nurse Jennifer and PA Michelle - she was feeling much better by midweek - God Bless you all!!! Best wishes everyone! ♥️♥️♥️
