I had shoulder surgery June 5th at Newark-Wayne Hospital done by Dr. Alexander. I had only been to the hospital one other time previous to surgery. Both times I visited, the experience was great! From the staff at Patient Access and Same Day Surgery, to the cleanliness of the hospital, everything seemed well kept and the hospital staff very friendly. I admired the updates made to the hospital and like the smaller facility. I feel like it allows for a more personable experience. Dr. Alexander is very efficient at his profession. Some have commented on his bedside manor. Some want” hand holding” as a bedside manor, which is understandable. What’s more important to me is having a professional I feel confident putting my trust in and in charge of my care. I felt well cared for and in good hands choosing him as my Orthopedic Surgeon. I appreciate Dr. Alexander and the staff at Newark-Wayne Hospital.

Wonderful staff and facilities. Especially in the 200 west wing. Every nurse and patient care technician we encountered asked if they could do anything to make us more comfortable. They offered ideas and solutions, and not once did we wait more than 2 minutes for something. Excellent service.

Nurses were too busy talking about their coffee order to respond to the call bell when the patient needed help. We waited for about 15 minutes before asking someone to come. And then waited an addition 5 minutes after asking a nurse to help.

Been to this hospital many times over the years. Deepending on staff it can be good or real bad. Last visit to er went well but when admitted tending staff and doc didn't listen to patient and made assumptions. Also, ants were in the room. Quality of care was not good.
