Fantastic experience delivering our baby back in December. Nurses and staff were great! Our son was born only 16 min after arriving and the Physician on call and staff were quick and fast to make sure we were taken care of. The Lactation specialist was amazing, we were even sent home with a “meal to go”! Can’t say enough.

I recently went to Norwegian American Hospital for a mammogram. I normally have to wait for an appointment from Northwester Memorial, but Norwegian quickly gave me an appointment. I was given directions and instructions for the exam that were easy to follow. The intake staff were super helpful and made me smile. Then I had a positive experience with the technician. She explained every step in the process. Overall, the experience went well. I highly recommend going to Norwegian American Hospital for medical exams.

I am forever in debt to this hospital. Love and respect all the staff there for doing what they do. For my mild yet potentially severe wounds they really went the extra mile to make sure i was good to go. Thank you for being there guys!

Norwegian is as bad as it gets. I was in world of suicidal level pain as a result of Dr. Shahen's apathy & neglect. A little background: I take opioids to control debilitating neuropathic pain in my feet as a result of a sacral resection due to a rare cancer. I had the great misfortune of being transferred to Norwegian under the care of Dr. Samir Shahen. He totally cut off my intake down to literally ZERO (Opioids require tapering, even amongst addicts, this is basic 101 level stuff) , which was the opposite of what I needed. He only had to look at my prescription history, so simple, not everyone on opiods is a junky, these drugs exist for a reason. Cancer related pain is among the most severe. Assuming for one second that all this has to do with some bizzare, unwritten policy on the part of Norwegian, why then even accept me as a patient? This in of itself is beyond careless.

I asked Dr. Shahen numerous times, explaining my situation as quickly as possible whilst he tried to make a rapid get-away and he finally "consented" to prescribe me the necessary medicine but never went thru with it. Each meeting with him was super brief not even lasting a minute literally. I did not even learn his name directly from him but instead had to ask a nurse. The first "meeting" I had with him, if one can call it that, was laughably short, perhaps not spanning more than 20 seconds, he entered the room partially, basically mumbled his name, mumbled again asking if anything was wrong and quickly fled.

Never have I met a more disinterested and grossly negligent physician in my life. I would give negative stars if I could and will be filing a complaint with the Illinois state medical board for all the unnecessary, extreme and agonizing neuropathic pain I endured (For 3 days straight!) at the hands of this incompetent, so-called, "doctor".

Not once did he return any phone calls made by family members who happen to be highly trained physicians BTW.

Chicagoans have a number of solid options on the menu, Northwestern, University of Chicago, Rush and the University of Illinois, why choose Norwegian and role the dice?

This is the WORST hospital to give birth at. The doctor pushed me on the bed and I was in so much pain because of the stitches after giving birth. I was threatened by a nurse because I told her to stop squeezing blood out my baby feet and she said she will call DCFS on me if she didn’t finished. Please do not go here PLEASE DON’T !!!!!!!!!! They didn’t even service a girl while blooding was running down her pants because she was having a MISCARRIAGE!!! A man at the front desk had a attitude and didn’t care at all for the lady as she said she needed help badly. Remember that day like yesterday 💔💔💔 SO HEARTBROKEN😢
