I had a terrible experience giving birth to my first child at Presbyterian. I could write several pages on everything that happened, but I will keep it short. The nurse and hospital staff admitted me after I called due to regular contractions. When my husband and I arrived, they stated they did not have any birthing rooms available for me. I was placed on a rock hard stretcher in a small triage room for over 6 hours. I was denied an epidural due to no available birthing rooms and couldn’t even get extra pillows or blankets for comfort and support due to over crowding (per the nursing staff). I was in terrible pain and discomfort for hours and provided little relief. The aftercare was terrible as well. I could not believe the hospital staff admitted me knowing they were over crowded and had no available rooms. I could have gone to another hospital and been provided proper care. The hospital has refused to compensate me in any way and has billed my insurance and myself thousands of dollars. I highly recommend anyone considering giving birth at this hospital to not do it! There are other options and will be well worth it.

I gave birth to my daughter here. I loved the staff and felt very comfortable for the most part. The few things that didn't set well with me, I didn't have a chance to discuss. We were told on the tour that family could not switch out while I was in recovery from my C-section. My child's father sat with me the entire time and a nurse told my family that we COULD indeed switch out so they could see my daughter. No one came to inform us. My family didn't get a chance to her until late in the afternoon. Other than that, it was wonderful!

I had surgery today on 9-19 and I have had the best care. The surgical team was fantastic and my nurses are amazing! Thank you Novant for hiring such wonderful people!

I had a great experience here in the ER. Everyone was very kind and helpful. They took great care of me and got me out as quick as possible. I needed x Rays and nothing else. They didn't spend time doing unnecessary things to me. I was given my diagnosis and a couple of prescriptions, a follow up appt with a general practitioner and I was out the door in about 3 hours. That was extra fast for a Friday evening. I would recommend this place to anyone and would go back again if I needed too.
