feedback about Nyack Hospital
I don’t even want to give this hospital 1 star. But you have to, in order to write something. This is by far the worst hospital in the world. I would send my worst enemy there. I feel so awful for all those patients that have no choice to be there. I hope one day that these awful staff members get to experience how awful they are to there patients, by being treated the same way. The best is when you make a comment and they comment and tell you to call there representatives. Well I’m still waiting for a call back since Friday. Worst hospital ever and I will tell anyone and everyone that will listen. You should be ashamed to treat patients the way that you do and allow your staff members to continue to do it.
The entrance to the hospital looks horrible. The hospital needs renovating. The over all quality of care there is poor. Most of the nursing staff and social workers seem to be nice in general.
This hospital used to be amazing....and now it is going down hill fast. I've been in the ER for 4 hours now during which time I've over heard at least 6 conversations which violate HIPAA laws and witnesses 2 staff members make xenophobic statements regarding families who do not speak english. This is truly disappointing and I am truly aggravated.
Was in Nyack Hospital for 5 days, had surgery there and check in was easy and simple. The nurses and Drs explain everything. When I woke up in recovery, the nurses and PCA on 5N were fantastic. I’ve heard the reputation of this hospital, but I would recommend it to anyone.
The emergency department is disgustingly bad. A patient left against medical advice because no one examined her in nearly 2 hours. No one was helping a nurse who was yelling for assistance. I had to go into the room to pull one out to find them all having a chat and even then I had to repeat that a nurse was calling for assistance 3 times before someone started moving. The staff was clearly unhappy. One was complaining that they were called in for a Code Purple for a patient who was waiting for 40 minutes (Code Purple is a backed up emergency department). My wife was not checked in on in over 2 hours after giving her medication and she said she was feeling better about 20-30 minutes after receiving said medication. It's no wonder the Code Purple staff was complaining about the emergency department.
Listening to the staff talk to other patients they were definitely rude. I wouldn't go back to Nyack Hospital if it were next door and I were dying. If I were dying in the hospital I'd still want to be transported out.
