I've had a few x-rays at this location recently and everyone was professional and courteous. I especially like how the registration area is designed so as you are completely sequestered inside an enclosed area when speaking about personal information.
I'm deducting one star though because recently while going thru the registration process the woman helping me was asking me personal questions which I felt was inappropriate. Then she called another worker over and kept trying to have her speak with me about financial assistance and kept asking me what my income was. Then she proceeded to tell me about the coverage that she has. I really wasn't interested in chit-chat. It seemed like she mostly wanted to obtain personal information about me that wasn't relevant to the visit. Asking about the exact location of where I live is not appropriate. I don't know her name but she's thin and wears glasses.
Emergency room nurse was rude and incredibly disrespectful. I was already sick and in the emergency room, to be treated as such was the cherry on top of the sundae. Take the extra time to drive elsewhere.
With the worst pain in my life, I was not content to be patient 36 at the 18-bed ER in DuBois. The triage nurse was apathetic and refused to call Brookville ER to check their availability (they cited "federal regulations" - Total BS). In the middle of a thunderstorm, my spouse drive me to Brookville ER, and before she could park the car, I was in an ER bed. A NP and Physician saw me immediately. Within the first hour, I was evaluated at bedside, scanned, given the results, and scheduled for a procedure the next morning. I was admitted to a hospital room by hour 3. By that hour, I probably would not have been seen in DuBois. I can't say enough about how well the doctors, nurses, and aides treated us in Brookville. They were always running, in part, because they have no unit secretary or transportation personnel. But, they always met our needs and from what I heard in the halls, all the others patients sounded satisfied. I was in the hospital several days, and cared for very well. Brookville Hospital may not have the fancy electronics and decoration of the hospital in DuBois, but they have heart, experience, and expertise which are much more important when you need help in an emergency.
Came here on a Sunday with my child who was having severe abdominal pains. When we arrived they made us sit in the waiting room for awhile. Another lady was also sitting in the waiting room crying and struggling with kidney pains. She was leaned over holding her back. My child was doubled over w stomach pain. I asked if we could please have a bed for both ladies. I was told to wait. Ten minutes later the desk clerk (a male) was still sitting at the computer. I asked again if we could please have a bed and was told to wait again. Ten more minutes and I was v frustrated. I asked again and said "please! You don't have to treat us - just let these poor girls lay down". We were taken back and given an attitude by the nurse. ALL the beds were empty except for one. Makes no sense.
Been coming here from Pittsburgh for 15 years,I don't care how hi tech pgh hospitals are, the employees here are phenomenal!
I have never waited, always park at the door, and never had to walk past gunshot victims.
