I hope you weren't mad upon the review. I gave a 1 star review 3 months ago. You are legally allowed to do things. Thank god I was never assaulted. I don't know about my cholesterol reports. I can run long distances.
Recently, I was visiting a Phelps urologist, when he spotted a discoloration on my chest. He said: "You should get that checked out." I did. It was cancer! (Basal cell, thank G+d). Can you believe that? The urologists are so great at Phelps that they can spot cancer! OMG, it is a good thing I went to Phelps. I highly recommend Phelps to everyone!!
Stay away from this hospital as much as you can. I was taken to ER and the nurses were rude! One male nurse tried drawing my blood but failed at a few attempts. He finally got blood from my left arm but threw the first tube away in the garbage can and had to draw my blood again! I went to other doctors and hospitals later on. For the past years of experience with Phelps, its charges have always been higher than other hospitals I've been to but the quality of work and services are at the very bottom of my list.
Erin, my nurse in the ER today, was easily the best nurse I have EVER had. I wish I had told her this myself. Very knowledgeable, patient and friendly.
My child had an MRI of her left knee done at Phelps Memorial Hospital. The entire procedure has taken about 10 minutes. The child did not require and was not administered any anesthesia or other drugs during the procedure. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for $2,200 from Phelps. The amount of the entire bill was whooping $6,491 out of which they gave a $2,486 “discount” to our insurance company which then paid $1,921 to Phelps. After that Phelps went almost for the entire amount of our deductible billing us for $2,200. This seemed totally out of line for an uncomplicated procedure which has taken such a short time. Hence, I inquired from other people about an average price for the MRI. The answers I have received are that “normal” price for the MRI is about $1,500 while cash price only $300-400. This is not anywhere near the amount demanded and received by Phelps. It is my opinion that Phelps Memorial Hospital scammed us in their medical billing procedure. Beware.
P.S. Just days later we have received a SECOND bill for the SAME MRI performed at Phelps. This time from North Well Health provider Jonas Chimere, M.D. I believe this was the doctor who performed an MRI.
This bill totals $527 and makes us liable for $55.
What should we expect next? Bills from the secretaries and other stuff that work at Phelps??
