Infusions, no matter what they are for are stressful for the patient. I have been to another place which catered to that patient. Coffee, juice water, snacks in case if nausea. They have nothing . Also I too had the rudest nurse, or whatever he was. I should have vitals before AND after but not after, and temp only before. If I can I will go somewhere else, don't go here you will be very sorry. Hey workers, this happens to be our life your messing with. Also this place is not in my pay grade either, as the man giving me mine said every time I asked a question. Minus 5 stars if I could
Wonderful treatment of my family member. (Admitted 4 days). Love the special doctors and nurses; respect their savvy way of team/rounds -checking daily on patients as a group! The social worker got us into the VA too after. 5 stars for her too.
Review of the Maternity Ward and care: Our child was delivered at this hospital, and was admitted to the NICU (which is more like 'advanced care' than a neonatal ICU). Had I not spent a great deal of time reviewing Merck manuals, and making sure to get ALL of the information I could, from all of the doctors and nurses, they were going to start doing lumbar punctures on a PERFECTLY healthy infant, even after minor clinical symptoms were no longer present. We took our baby home, and they are perfectly healthy. In retrospect I think they were just after some extra insurance $$ - I have fairly good coverage. To think that they would do unnecessary harm to a newborn infant is absolutely abhorrent. I hope this situation was a one-off, but it is still inexcusable. Our pediatrician was also appalled when we described to them what took place, and was relieved that we took our baby home as soon as the neonatologist started coming off the wheels when talking about their 'care plan.' It's like they wanted to see just how far we would let them go. If we have any more children, they will not be delivered here.
Always feel time is taken to see my needs are met.
Was suppose to have a common 15 min procedure today but in the bed in my gown was turned away because I live alone. Would think that would have come up during my 3 nurse/prep calls.
