Rio Grande Regional Hospital has provided compassionate care to the residents of the Rio Grande Valley for over 38 years.
The 320 beds facility offers a range of inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical, and specialty services featuring an emergency department with a designated Level III Trauma Center, a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Other services provided by the hospital include comprehensive women’s services in conjunction with five Rio Grande women’s clinics, comprehensive cardiovascular care, a dedicated transplant institute, and a primary stroke center, in addition to a wide range of medical and diagnostic services.

I received excellent care at Rio Grande Regional. I really felt like their focus was on me and my daughters comfort. The Doctors and nurses would explain every process which gave me total piece of mind. Those nursery nurses are exceptional. Thank you for watching my daughter so daddy and mommy could rest. The whole entire staff was professional and their superb level of care made my whole family and friends who visited feel very welcomed. There was one exception with one of the security guards keeping visitor watch. When my five year old visited three times he always gave us a hard time about coming up. Maybe he wasn’t informed on visiting protocols, not sure, but that was a minor incident that doesn’t affect my overall rating of Rio Grande Regional Hospital. My family and I are grateful for such great service.

From the new phone registration, the new tablet sign in to the new faster CT scan, my visit to Rio Grande Regional hospital was so fast I felt I was barely there! Everyone was very professional but friendly. The waiting time was very short now instead of the long periods of waiting we were use to. As always, the hospital was clean.

I had the greatest experience at this hospital. Everyone that I came in contact with was so helpful, friendly and supportive. Let me admit, hospital stays aren’t my favorite, but I never felt uncomfortable or anxious to go home. I can’t say this about any other hospital that I have been to. The nurses in the labor and delivery department were amazing! Not to mention, so sweet and caring! Food service, housekeeping and even security were kind and respectful as well. My family has always been treated well at Regional and I would not have it any other way. I’m so glad I made this choice. Very happy and content with my experience. Thank you!!

Terrible experience. Will try and not come back here. Terrible customer service in front "help" desk from 2 ladies! Tried to visit my family member on the Oct 15th but was told I couldn't since the were 2 passes already out and nobody was allowed. Once my wife was let in the room she saw a roomful of other patients family in waiting area visiting their sick family. After returned pass we asked why other people were allowed in waiting area her response was "well there are always "special circumstances" for others". I guess there is a less importance to see MY FAMILY in this hospital. Terrible....would give negative score if possible. Hopefully management will review this and rectify this unfortunate situation and give counsel where needed for staff employees.
