I can tell you that I appreciate the scheduler Nan. She has always been Very helpful to me. When I call to schedule an appointment. If Nan doesn't receive my call. I ask to speak to her. She displays kindness and is caring. She is Awesome!
Went ER due to difficulty breathing. Stated it felt like an elephant sitting on my chest when I laid down. I also had swollen ankles. Kept mentioning I was a type 2 diabetic. She ordered a breathing treatment??? She gave me steroids and I knew nothing about diabetes and steroids. I end up at 398 the next morning. I saw my regular doctor and she could not believe they gave me steroids. It end up that I have Heart Failure and nothing can be done. My diabetes meds were doubled and I have to take another medication due to gross negligence by ER doctor.
The call taker named "Nan' was very rude when I called needing a question answered about a prescription that was called in by my nurse. I wanted to be sure it would not interfere with another drug. She transferred my call to a voicemail that would not be returning calls the same day and when I called back she told me " what do you want me to do, I have other calls to take" . She had zero empathy or compassion and then sent me to the "head nurse" where I left a message that was never returned. Horrible customer care!!!
I’ve never had a good experience here. A few years back I was with someone who came in via ambulance for a psych evaluation. They asked me and another person to write a statement about recent issues to help get him put on a hold that was much needed. We asked if we could take the statements to a restaurant across the street so we could eat and fill them out. They said yes. We were gone probably 30min, got back, and they released him because we weren’t here with the statements. He attempted to kidnap me the next day and tried to kill his friend the day before. I’m here now with my boyfriend and he was in the ICU after surgery and his nurse Emily took at least an hour every time she said she would be right back with something whether it be meds, discharge paperwork, checking with pharmacy. But I saw her joking with other nurses in the hall. Ridiculous. I think the only worse hospital is Liberty hospital. We did come in contact with some great people. Ladies at the desks, nurse in surgery recovery. But unfortunately the bad is really outweighing the food here.
First time visit to St. Luke’s on Barry, I went to the ER for stomach pain after a horrible experience at my regular doctors office. I got right in with probably a 10 minute wait, if that. Every single person I encountered there was outstanding. From the check in lady to the sonogram person. I had all kinds of tests done and each person explained what was going to happen and how it would feel. There was just a level of care that I haven’t experienced in a long, long time. Dr. Kyle Cassia and a nurse named Samantha were the names I remembered.
