feedback about Schuyler Hospital, Inc
I am an employee at Seneca View. I love the residents! And the view of Seneca Lake is fabulous!
Went in at 2 am, with constipation for 3 days, using my walker, a short, fat, black nurse watched me struggle. I looked up, she was gone. A deputy sheriff came up behind me, I ask, you need to get around me, no he said, but started joking with staff. Meanwhile, I am still struggling, the other nurse watches, I ask, this room, yes she says, with NO ASSISTANCE.
Nurse keeps cutting me off when explaining symptoms, tells me get in gown, again, no assistance.
This hospital sucks the Ducks feathers from Seneca Lake.
It's just become a testing facility for Cayuga Med. Not really a "hospital" any more. Anything serious, and they ship you to Ithaca, unless you specify an Elmira or Corning hospital. They also need to add other companies to there network. That being said, it is a nice facility, with emergency room. Staff is friendly and helpful . Nice have right near home, convenient. You can get an MRI or physical therapy there if needed also.
Schuyler ambulance has a contract to deliver to Schuyler hospital unless you sign off. What Schuyler hospital does is keep you for maybe a day or less, and transports you by ambulance to another hospital with equipment that Schuyler does not have, meaning you will pay double hospital AND ambulance bills. What I would recommend is that unless your emergency is kind of serious, to just go to Arnot in Elmira or Cayuga med in Ithaca. They will not put you in an ambulance and transport you to another hospital. It is very rare they have to do this in other areas. Also, when Schuyler hospital needs to transport, it takes up Schuyler ambulances only crew, therefore meaning you have one less ambulance in the county. You have Hector, Tyrone, And Dundee, but they are all volunteer, and they are way farther than Schuyler, which the whole ambulance thing isn't really the hospital's fault but anyway
I had a Heart attack in April and drove to Schuyler Hospital.
I was then transport by Schuyler to Arnot.
