So many people say nothing about their good experiences. So I thought i would contribute a positive review. Amazing ER doctors and nurses!! I was taken to an er room right away. After being admitted I met one of the nicest internal medicine doctors ever. I was given a room quickly on the cardiac floor with lots of nurses yet again waiting to provide excellent care. If you have an emergency, a real emergency not just a stomach ache, this is the place to go.

Pleasure to have the care my husband had from Baylor Scott and White Temple. Kendra, the nurse, was friendly, informative and helpful in every way. Doctor Allen gave us the best care he possibly could and taking the time to explain every procedure during and after surgery. Patient and understanding. The rest of the staff also excelled with good humor and attention to the needs of the patients. Thanks for all you do. Ron Joseph

Scott & White has made changes recently and have taken the compassion out of caring and commercialized their system. When you call your clinic you are routed to a call center and they make the determination as to what care you will get. When you send a message to your doctor it is intercepted by a non-medical personnel and it may or may not get to your doctor. When you try and schedule an appointment a "non-medical" person may decide you do not need the appointment and cancel it on you. There is no longer an "Umbrella of Care". You are left repeating things over to your doctor, specialist, surgical doc when everything is in a system in front of them and available to be reviewed. You are just utterly lost in a system that no longer cares about putting patients first. I used to sing the praises of Scott & White but in the past 6 months they have made changes that make patient care a joke and no longer a priority. They have put more of the patient care in the hands of non-medical / call center personnel and you may or may not get what you need here. It's the luck of the draw when you call or send that message. They have this thing called "Speak Up" which is a joke. Who are you supposed to speak up to when you can get messages beyond administrative staff? I had experiences where even my Doctors orders were not granted due to the new front line staffing that have no medical degree? My issues had nothing to do with financial or insurance coverage just pure misinterpretation of a non-medical staff member who decide what you can and can't have done against medical advice. Then to top things off this is a teaching hospital and so at times you are treated as a medical dummy for them to practice on. If you have a lot of medical issues like I do and have not established care with Scott and White then I would run as fast as you can!

I gave two stars because my experience with ER staff, and almost everyone else who provided me with care during my pregnancy, was exceptional.
My PP care and dealings with administrative staff were absolutely abysmal. I cannot put into words the negative impact some of these people had on me and what I've had to go through to heal from being treated as such during the most vulnerable time in my life.
The "financial advisor" at the OB clinic specifically needs extensive training in personal relations or to find a new line of work where she does not have any contact with patients, since she cannot manage to contain her disdain for others and display anything resembling a a professional attitude to potential patients.
The clinic in general needs to educate their employees on which insurance plans they accept, and remove those they do not accept from the list on the website. I'm still taken aback by being told over the phone that they accepted my insurance and that I could make an appointment with a doctor that day, only to wait two weeks to drive an hour into town to be told that if I would have to pay 3k before making any appointment, would have to make ANOTHER appointment just to pay that, and that I should "try somewhere else."
I called S&W twice after this visit, was told that's just how they do things. My insurance is still listed on the website as an acceptable form of payment and if you call the clinic, they still say they accept it. One would think that once it was brought to their attention they would make an attempt to rectify this but I suppose that wouldn't be as profitable.
I'm leaving this review because I highly recommend finding alternative obstetric care. Everything worked out for me, because due to my horrific experience, I ended up looking elsewhere and finding a FANTASTIC doctor. My experience with my second pregnancy has been so much less stressful, having a doctor who treats me like a person, returns my calls and has office staff who arent above billing my insurance. It's worth it to find a clinic where they do everything they can to help you feel happy and excited about having a child, not act annoyed at you for bothering them by being their patient - AT BEST.

First, I want to make it clear that I have not been a client/patient at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. I am researching this hospital in order to pursue health care for a relative. Second, I'm in the medical field. From the descriptions given below, especially about the nurses, incompetence and poor follow thru for something as simple as a catheter as well as an ER doctor behaving poorly, this place sounds like it needs an overhaul. When unprofessional behavior takes place to this extent, it means that management has allowed this to fester and therefore grow. They need a top down change to make it very clear this type of behavior or attitude will not be tolerated. Leadership needs to model and demand professional behavior. Even sarcasm, belittling or coworker disrespect breaks down the fiber of professionalism, which then spreads to the way clients/patients are treated. The reviews below are very disappointing. And for veteran Tarzan, much respect to you and thank you for your service. Sorry this happened to you as well as the other clients/patients. You deserve better.
