Self Regional Medical Center

I relocated to Greenwood several years ago and have just given birth, through cesarean. The team here was on time, very quick, knowledgeable, extremely caring, went above and beyond. Consistently supportive, but giving me space if needed. The hospital is nice and clean. You can tell everyone loves what they do here. They are very team-oriented with assisting one another, something large hospitals tend to lack. I give them 5 stars for the birthing center!

A family member went to the ER with a new, critical heart condition and was treated quickly, correctly, and with professionalism and respect. Couldn't have asked for more. For whole 3 day hospital stay, all hospital staff were helpful, kind, and right on target with the chosen treatment. One thing I noticed that was different from the Atlanta hospitals where we moved from is that they also took the time to explain things in great detail, and we appreciated that.

Rude, uncaring neglectful staff! Rude neglectful doctors IF you actually ever see one for more than 2 minutes. They do not listen at all & are nothing but annoyed by you asking questions My daughter had a vasovagal response to getting an iv, 17, never before happened, she was freaking out about it & they just absolutely ignored us! My cousin is a nurse in N.C. so I called her, she immediately explained to us what had happened & was able to get my daughter calmed down. Unacceptable medical care... or rather professional (I say that loosely) neglect!

I am a highly educated, cultured, retired professional woman age 70. I have had anxiety disorder my entire life One day I suffered difficulty breathing, lack of balance and pounding heart. In the ambulance the emts diagnosed severe anxiety attack and panic attacks. After 3 hours waiting in the er, a do stopped in. He read my report. He told me that Anxiety disorders were against his beliefs and he did not write scripts. I asked for another doctor.no. I was released. The next month I fell and broke my hip. Please do not let this happen to another.

I've had nothing but excellent care and doctors at Self. I've been admitted by ambulance to emergency twice and recently had surgery there. Every time I've been there I've been treated with respect and found them exceptionally competent. My husband was admitted for surgery and cared for well too so NO complaints! On the other hand if you want a comparison for hospitals then try what used to be called MCG... in Augusta, Ga. Oh dear God just let me die before going there ever again!
