I stayed with my sister during her stay in the ICU for 2 nights/3days. All of her nurses were amazing. Caring, sweet, efficient and full of knowledge. The ICU was clean and quiet. The respiratory therapists were kind and educational.
Overall it was a wonderful experience and I thank them all.
World class health care in Virginia Beach.., no one really likes going to the hospital but everyone here is treated with respect and kindness...I was really impressed with the service that I received at this medical facility. It means so much when you are facing medical challenges that can be very scary to have caring doctors ,nurses, technicians and staff treat you with kindness...thank you to all staff and personnel of this hospital for great care ,you are a great asset to the community of Virginia Beach.
Remember when you read the 1 star reviews, it's a hospital. People usually come here and are pissed and expect magic. Don't trust them. Read a few. Rediculous.
My wife and I went here, were afraid she had issues with her appendix. Fastest E.R I've ever seen. Staff was so helpful and quick. Would 100% reccomend. My wife and sister are nurses. They knew what to look for and knew this place was good (at least the E.R)
I have been admitted to the emergency room multiple times over the past year. Previously, on 11/12/2018 due to severe chest pain. The experience in the waiting room was excellent as I was seen almost immediately on check-in. However, the experience following admission was downright awful, if not negligent. I was told incorrect information from the doctor and nearly choked to death due to negligence. For my chest pain, I was told to swallow 15ML of Lidocaine Viscous. I was told that this was numb my chest pain. I was NOT told that this medicine was numb my entire digestive tract. I had a bad reaction to the medicine as my heart rate spiked to over 160. I was then told to chew 4 aspirin to relieve any inflammation. I started chewing aspirin and as I was swallowing I realized that I could not feel my throat or feel myself swallowing. I thought I was choking to death as I couldn't get anything down. I had multiple tests done and the doctor didn't find any conclusive evidence for my chest pain. The doctor said next outpatient steps were to be to do an endoscopy for my heart problems. Endoscopy? They don't even look at the heart during an endoscopy! Any patient knows that information. I am utterly shocked of the non-professionalism, negligence of administration of medicine, and incorrect information relayed to me.
Really wish I could give them zero stars. I don’t believe it’s possible to be any worse than what they are. 8 hours in the emergency room & counting. This is sentara finest. I don’t want anything to do with them. I’d rather die.
