We have been sitting here for almost 3 hours. People that came in after is have been seen and left.
What the neck people?? I know it's an emergency room and all that is needed is an ultrasound to find out if appendicitis is the cause of her illness....but if it were...she'd probably be dead by now. If she gets called back within the next 10 minutes, i will delete this post....but I won't hold my breathe.

That Guenhwyvar post is actually me. I accidentally posted on the wrong account. I was the one who spent the 7 days in that horrible place. It actually reminds me of the old days when mental health patients were kept in dirty awful conditions.
Fix your equipment, fix your phones for these patients. And most of all keep them safe. All of us locked in the day/eating room could do was joke around about how we would have been burning up or dying from smoke inhalation by that time.
Put enough staff back on that unit. It's was fine just 3 years ago. What the neck happened. You need to find another way to cut corners to save money, because this psychiatry unit is in some ways counter productive. Nurses ignore some of the patients needs. I will NEVER, EVER go back to this hospital again. This truly was the last straw. That in patient unit should be investigated and fixed. Or shut it down. Sad truly. Get your act together whoever own and runs this place.

Physician Assistant Emily Nilson, Nurse Beth Snead and Dawn were absolutely amazing! Our Registration person Christy was also amazing! I can’t Thank the staff enough for the compassion and care they showed my son and got him feeling better!!

Just spent 7 days in the hell hole that is their in patient behavioral health. The place is dirty. Nothing works. Broken phones, broken equipment. And sadly some broken nurses. They have cut staff to the point where the nurses are so over whelmed and over worked that some are just truly burnt out. The techs are reduced to having to clean because they have cut house keeping staff in this department.
Also there was a fire drill which we later learned wasn't a drill. There was a problem in their boiler room. Instead of taking us out of the building they locked us in where we were. In our rooms or in the day room which is where I was. Staff only stood in front of the doors to all exits. I will never EVER go to this hospital ever again. Not for anything. This was the last straw.
That inpatient psychiatry department should be shut down.
On the only positive note. Most of the social workers, techs and a very few nurses actually truly care about what they do.
Shame on you who ever owns and runs Southside Regional Medical Center.

My wife and I lost our son recently. The RN by the name of Brooke in labor and delivery took great care of my wife during this traumatic time. Her professionalism, sincerity, and her overall concern for my wife made our stay, on such bad terms, much easier for my wife and I. Thank you for everything Brooke. You will forever be in our hearts for everything you did for us during this traumatic time. We can’t thank you enough.
