I had surgery 6/18/18 At Zeeland Community Hospital. My bariatric surgeon made me feel comfortable and safe. The team that did my surgery also made me feel safe and comfortable. After I woke up and I was on the second floor the team that took care of me after surgery listen to my needs and were great nurses and nurse assistances. If I ever need another procedure done I would definitely consider Spectrum Health Zeeland .

The worst visit to an ER ever. Zeeland used to be a great hospital and emergency care facility but now it is horrible. There seems to be a lack of experience, compassion and basic bedside manner throughout the emergency department.

The nursing technician took me to my room without saying anything but my name when she called me from the waiting room. She then puts a thermometer in my mouth, a blood pressure cuff and sensor on my finger without saying anything. She did not know how to use the equipment and took forever to take vitals.

A nurse then comes in who at first seemed like she knew what she was doing until she said I had a colostomy in my past medical records which is highly inaccurate. She came back at the end of the visit which lasted 3 miserable hours. She asked how everything was and I said not good, her response... "im glad to hear that". She then goes to take final vitals and doesn't realize the blood pressure cuff is not attached until I say something 30 seconds in.

Then a highly inexperienced PA comes in and seems to listen but then decides a numbing gel is the best form of pain reliever as he does a very intrusive procedure. He continued too say Ill be right back and came back and hour later (no exaggeration). He had to keep consulting the attending physician who never came to see me but is listed as the doctor who treated me. The treatment anti b-iotics and and a hydrocortisone cream. Needless to say the issue is very private and should have been handled with much more care, compassion and attention. While doing 2 very private procedures a nurse came barging into the room looking for something she forgot and on the second procedure someone came in looking for another nurse.

Highly disappointed Zeeland Hospital! Im sure this will be ignored as Spectrum Health really has changed what they stand for. The Vision is to be the leading healthcare in the country, YEAH RIGHT. Maybe the biggest and most profitable but not the leading the way you are treating the members in the communities you drain for profits. Why don't you read the reviews and do something? I see zero response to anyone. Do you not care or do you think your monopoly will save you?

Wife Had a baby here at from beginning to end had nothing but a positive experience. We had our first child at va hospital so needless to say this place was leaps and bounds better. Food is really bad in the cafeteria that's really all I can say negatively about the place.

I don't understand the 3.3 rating for Zeeland Hospital.
I had surgery on August 1, 2018, discharged on August 2, 2018.
The care I received from pre-op to discharge was excellent!!!
Being a retired nurse, I know what the standard care is suppose to be.
Zeeland Hospitals staff are WELL above standard!!
A huge thank you to 2nd floor med-surg Stacy, Kim, Anna, Melinda, and Lori for their care, kindness, and professionalism!
