feedback about St Charles Hospital
The delivery and labor/maternity nurses are the best. So personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Every aspect of our time at St Charles was truly a pleasure. So grateful to those who worked so hard bringing our son into the world. Thank you so much.
Honestly if you value your health don’t come here.
Came here because I’ve had 103 Fever along with body aches for about 2 days, they gave some fluids and Tylenol for the fever and said for me to go home because it could be viral, as I’m ready to be discharge I begin to have stomach upset having to use the restroom 3 times in the span of 20 min I mentioned this to the PA in charge of my care even mentioning that I had bloody loose stool and they didn’t seem to be concerned. I barely made it home in time to use the bathroom having still a high fever and aches plus the upset stomach to add to my symptoms, the following day I decided to go to city md since my symptoms had only getting worse my fever still present and now over 24h of constant diarrhea they told me is better if I go back to the Er because they lack the instant lab the Er could provide. Went I came back to the Er I was received by the now doctor incharge of my care with disbelief what am I even doing here, I tried explaining to him that since I’m a vet tech I could be potentially exposed to certain bugs I even went further to mention giardia which could be common in dogs and cats and could easily be acquired, but he shook he’s head and said no is not possible, how could you even say is not possible without running labs, he didn’t even want to repeat a blood work.
Save yourself the headache and go to Mather hospital at least their doctors listen to you and they’re not running understaffed like St Charles hospital is . At this moment my nurse is taking care of me and 9 other patients in st Charles hospital Er how is that even safe 2 nurses for 21 patients
NP gave me the medication that I am prescribed monthly for 3 days, then decides to discontinue it when I’m already withdrawing off of klonopin and I came to detox for this reason. So I had no choice but to AMA when I wanted and needed help, but your nurse practitioner in detox needs to get her head on straight. First she tells me I can have my meds and gives them to me 2x a day for 3 days. Then she just discontinues it and says I’ll talk to you about it later... I wait about an hour and a half and get no response so I had to AMA while I was already sick. Also the food here is terrible, if you ask for anything you’re gonna be waiting about an hour, detox anywhere but here. This is not a safe space, and the staff made it so much more uncomfortable.
DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE
AWFUL hospital. I went to detox and I was there for one night. I was asked to urinate in a cup and I couldn't because the drugs I was detoxing from cause URINARY RETENTION, but one of the fat nurse dudes said that's not true I've been working here for 12 years. I have no idea how he got his degree.
If you simply Google "Suboxone Urinary Retention" it appears clear as day.
Then I asked for a catheter because I had tried to urinate 5 times. He laughed it off and walked away.
I was kicked out of the hospital at 5 in the morning after being told the doctor would speak to me about it. This man never told me his name but he worked the night shift in blue scrubs and was heavyset and spent most of his time flirting with a nurse watching Netflix on her phone.
The overnight staff were watching movies on their phones and browsing the internet for fun. They are not qualified. This place hires anyone.
DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE
the ER triage nurse was extremely rude. and this system where you write your chief complaint on a card and slide it through a window is absurd. we waited over an hour just to be told that there was no psychiatric wing, which was the chief complaint of the person i brought in. so you’re telling me the triage nurse the read our “complaint card” couldn’t tell us that from the beginning? ER at this hospital is an absolute joke.
